"And why should I tell you?"

She got to him. He walked away from where he was to one of the loungers and arced his back in it, half-sitting, half-lying.

"Perhaps because I know things which you don't?"

She came to lie beside him, on a lounger next to his.

"And what could that be?"

He kept on the pace of discourse.

"You think I'll really tell you that way?"

She seemed indifferent, as she would look at him to look away. He chuckled and she looked back at him. That was his time to look away.

"What gives you the assurance that I'm interested in what you have to say?"

She sat up after those words of his. He glanced at her then looked away.

There was a sequence to the movement of the water from his angle. He loved to see the occasional thrusts of the stray fishes who knew not their places.

It was a natural thing, and a thing of strange interest to allow oneself to be distracted by the orders of nature.

Things were beginning to go in his way, but he knew that he would be telling himself a fat lie if he said he didn't know that he would facing bigger difficulties; those ascribed by the system, and natural ones that come with living!

"You are becoming very hard to talk to lately."

He couldn't ignore those words. He didn't expect she could say that. Of course he knew that Ayisha was different from the rest of the girls and was quite a quick and dynamic thinker. Yet, he wasn't expecting that quick stray and the hurling of a strange topic at him.

He sat up. The both of them were facing each other. He trailed her face down and down her body to the familiar tits, whose taste he could still remember on his tongue.

His eyes kept going till they hovered over her stomach. There was something strange about the way it looked, but then he looked back at her face. Her curious eyes were sizzling his face.

"Have you sat down and thought of it for a while... perhaps you would see that this didn't happen by chance?"

He stressed. She licked her lips, throwing her face to the side.

"For how long would you keep holding grudges against us? You have taken your revenge, haven't you? I know we did the worst to you, but isn't it enough yet?"

She paused for a while. Damien was going to speak when she continued,

"I'm not sure whether or not you know the gravity of what is happening. Jada is carrying you child. I'm not sure if you know what that means. I'm not sure if you know what having a baby tie two people together means."

She heaved a heavy sigh and pursed her lips. She puffed then continue, a gentle smile reaching at the corners of her face,

"And you don't even know whether or not there are still other girls who are carrying your baby."

He cleared his throat. He wanted her to continue but she didn't say a word. He stood up and walked to the side for a while. He looked around him.

He turned back to her and returned to his seat. While he did the vain show, she followed every of his movement with her curious eyes.

"Are you pregnant?"

He asked. Though the question sounded cold but his tone emphasized the amount of anxiety permeating.

She jumped up at once.

"I don't know what you are talking about."

She turned to walk away.

"Tell me the truth. Are you carrying my child, Ayisha?"

He didn't know why he was asking the question too. But something in his guts kept telling him a funny thing.

She spun around to him, her face tough and eyes deep.

"No!"

She bit the word then stomped off. Then she stopped again,

"But I do have a lot of truths to tell you. But it won't go for nothing."

She resumed her stomps till she was out of sight.

"That crazy girl... is she really giving me a condition? Where does she think this place is... a court?"

He stood there watching till she disappeared out of sight. He puffed, sighing at the same time.

"Could she be? If she is, then why is she telling lies?"

He turned to face another angle. He shook his head slowly. He bit his lower lip.

No matter how hard he tried to think about it, he didn't get what he really wanted. The answers to the thoughts were not coming through.

He decided to flip the system window out and searched through.

"This dumb system can never be helpful at a time like this."

Suddenly, something occured to him.

"Yes, Der!!!"
