Damien had several thoughts as the yacht came to a stop at the same dock. He could hear the girls chattering, they seemed so happy and excited. Some of them still found it quite hard to believe that they were really in Vegas. That they finally arrived Vegas after two months of hardship and troubles.
Judging by the way they were putting things in place, he could tell that it would take quite a moment for them to get their acts together, let alone step out of the yacht. That was the time Damien needed.
He quickly made a clone of himself. He made the clone sit back in the driver's seat and activated the invisible gait for his real body.
"I'll be right back."
Giya was the only person whom he thought right to fill in on what was happening. The little girl nodded then fell asleep again. She had slept to wake up over and over again during the ride.
With the aid of the invisible gait, he walked past the girls and out of the yacht. He wasn't really interested in what they were saying. To him, girls' talks weren't much of a big deal. They didn't really interest him.
He hurried out of the yacht and walked on till he made himself visible.
"Hey, you... where did you come from? I didn't see you... not even few seconds ago. Did you grow out of the air?"
A man called at him, but he didn't care. He only spared a glance at the man then looked away. He had enough to worry himself about to let such unnecessary thing get to him.
Soon enough, he noticed the owner of the dock. As soon as the owner saw him, the fellow hurried to Damien.
"Hey, boss you are back."
"Keep your voice down. Why are you yelling?"
Damien scolded the man who had raised his voice out of excitement seeing Damien again.
"I'm sorry. I never knew that you would arrive so soon. Did something happen?"
Damien looked to the side. He didn't know what to think, perhaps when men start to grow to a particular age, then they begin to talk too much. He didn't like that.
That was one of the things he didn't like about his grandpa, even though he loved the old man with his whole life.
Most times, his grandpa would keep on talking for hours. That wasn't really the part that was quite annoying and painful. The crazy part was when they were having a discussion about something serious or a particular topic, and then grandpa brings in a stray topic which had nothing to do with the subject of discourse. He could never tell the old man to keep quiet! How dare he? He could only sit there and listen.
For a moment, he couldn't tell why he was thinking too much about grandpa at that moment. He needed to get something done quickly. It was a matter of time before the girls would find out.
"Clear this dock of people. And pretend you don't know me."
He turned away from the man.
"Huh? Boss... what are you ---"
"Would you please do as you are told for once?"
The man bowed,
"Forgive me, boss."
Damien walked away as the man began to clear people. He walked out of the exit of the dock and saw a white limo.
He walked to the white limo. At the front of the limo was a batmobile. And standing by the door of the batmobile taking pictures and talking to girls was Mathew.
"That bastard. What's he doing with my cars? Getting girls?"
He cussed as soon as he saw Mathew. Point in time, Mathew looked up and saw him. As soon as he saw Damien, his eyes bulged at his sockets and he shuddered.
"Hey... what's the matter. You don't look too well."
One of the girls had observed the sudden change in him.
"Go... go now... just go!!!"
He yelled and the girls who ran off. They were really scared and freaked out at how quickly he changed towards them. This minute he was being so hospitable and nice, and the next he was being hostile and rough.
"You fool... why are you being so rude to those cute girls?"
He scolded and Mathew bowed at him.
"Welcome boss. I got the things ready as soon as I got your call."
Damien was confused for a moment. He could remember clearly how their call went.
Or could he be seeing double? Wasn't he the same person who cussed at him over the phone?
He wanted to take it on, but then remembered that the girls were still in the yacht. For all he knew, they might even be out. He knew how restless they could be.
"Did you spread the rumor yet?"
He carried it on. Mathew nodded fiercely to his question, hardly looking into his eyes.
Damien had changed significantly by time. The system seemed to be taking a great toll on every part of his body. His eyes had grown creepy and scary, but there was this hotness to the way he stared.
His face could grow tough in the blink of an eye, and smile was quite a remote task which his face performed once in a while.
"Definitely boss. All I need to do is take the right street, and the news today would beaten up by the rumor!!!"
Damien nodded.
"I'll come behind them. Get them safely into the limo and drive them to the agreed location."
Damien could tell by the look in Mathew's face that he had something to say.
"You have a problem with that?"
