"Not that I'm in any position to tell you what to do, sir. But I'd love to mention something."

Elisa said as soon as they stepped out of the elevator. He wasn't sure what she had in mind. At least there were a couple things which could be seen as the problem. She might still have a problem getting over how mysteriously the scab disappeared from his back, or it could be something else.

"If you have agreed within yourself that you are not in any position to talk to me, why are you making an attempt then?"

He threw in her face.

"I'm sorry..."

She apologised. He didn't like the fact that she did. He was trying to paint a picture to her but she wasn't seeing it obviously.

"I mean, you don't have to be so cautious making terms that betray their insinuations! Speak directly, plainly and formally when you want to address me. Stop kissing up. That's what majority do that pisses the hell out of me."

He took a pause, he didn't know if he was being harsh on her. But it seemed like they didn't know a lot about each other and would get to learn by time. Yet he couldn't find a reason to be too close to her. For a fact, she was just a manager. Who he might kick out anytime.

But then he recalled several temptations he had had around her. Like the previous time when they were in an elevator. He could had kissed her. He almost did.

"Now get straight to the point. Like you said, the girls are waiting."

He stressed.

"You should put on a cloth. You aren't a bodybuilder whose duty is to flaunt what he looks like. This is like a formal setting and should be treated as such, irrespective of your position."

She didn't for once take a pause while spurting. She decided to let Damien know that she did have her ego and policies too. He kept staring at her for a while. Then his face broke into a thin smile.

He turned away from her.

"You have not answered me."

She called following him. They were walking towards the door of the apartment. He halted at the front of the door and she caught up.

"Should I sack you?"

"Huh?!"

She wss startled by those words. Obviously she wasn't expecting them. There discussions didn't even take that route, so she had no idea where that was coming from. She would love to think it a stray, but Damien's face was quite tough, owning up to the words.

"If telling you the right thing is a crime, then go ahead. But I do know that I didn't wrong you."

She held her stance firmly. He kept a stare at her, looking at every corner of her eyes. He could tell that to some extent she was feigning the boldness.

He looked away from her,

"When you open the door, don't look for me or call out my name. I'm right there with you."

"I'm not sure if I'm ---"

When he looked back at her, she choked on the words. It felt like his glare had plucked the words from her throat and made her breathless. She had no choice but to look away so she could catch her breath.

Even Damien had no idea of what his glare could do to people now. He had no idea that he was becoming more and more of a terror every passing day.

Perhaps by time, he would realise what he was growing into.

"Open the door."

He ordered.

"Yes sir."

She turned to the door at once. She used the access card. She pushed the door open.

She turned to her back,

"After you si---"

But there was no one there with her anymore.

"But he was here half a second ago."

She argued with logic, but that had no clue to offer her.

"You are here finally. Why did you keep us waiting for so long? Some of us are so hungry that we could had feasted on the couches."

Allison met her with a complaint, and she couldn't allow the old feeling to keep the throne.
