"Where is he? Where is the boss you are talking about?"

"Were you pulling a prank on us?"

"Did you do that on purpose."

"I'm not sure what is happening, but do we look like a joke to you?"

Elisa couldn't give a response to the girls. In all sincerity, she could swear that she saw Damien standing by the window of the hall. She could tell. But somehow, he was no longer there.

When Elisa looked back at the girls, she paved a line in her long hair, revealing one of her ears which had been covered by the hair all along. In that ear wss a bud.

She turned it to the girls and they tucked their heads in.

"OH... she was making a call?"

"She was speaking with him over the phone?"

"But why did she look towards that place?"

Elisa waited for the girls to get their acts together. She didn't want to say anything. Not yet. It was a narrow escape. What if she had no bud plugged in? How would she had been able to scale through this?

"Forgive us. We are sorry."

Ayisha apologised on behalf of the rest. And there was Claire who was looking around as though she had a problem accepting the obvious. Perhaps her gut feeling was leasing her an interesting idea.

"It'll be better if we don't jump into conclusion next time."

She nodded at them then stood up. She walked to the door and opened. She stepped into the hallway.

Behind her, the girls were having a talk.

"What's the sudden change with her. It seemed like she changed towards us."

"What do you mean? Changed towards us? You speak as though she's been our friend or something."

"I mean, when we first met. The first time we got here, she was all sweet and loving. She didn't hide the fact that she was a fan. But it feels like something changed."

"What wouldn't change? Didn't y'all know that you have crappy attitudes?"

Everyone turned to Mira who had just spoken. Claire chuckled and came on,

"At last you are back to your old self, Mira."

"The island really did some good other than harm to some."

Tendzel complemented.

"I'm digging in. Y'all can keep talking for all I care."

Lisa was already eating.

"And there we have the big eater back too."

Noticing that no one cared less about her comment, Claire joined the rest of the girls and they started feasting.

"Where did he go just now? I saw him."

Elisa walked from one end of the hallway of the thirteenth floor to the other. She seemed keen on finding Damien.

"Who is he? Does he have some sort of magic that makes him disappear?"

She wasn't sure what to think. Then suddenly she remembered that she left the dining hall without a word to the girls. What if the girls tell Damien about that, she might be risking her job.

She hurried back to the dining hall to join the girls. As soon as she stepped into the hall, her phone buzzed. She pushed at the bud and the call came through.

"Boss?"

She called looking towards the window again as though it was the right thing to do. If there wss something which she was trying to do, it was protecting the fact that there was something strange about her boss.

She didn't want anyone to find out about it. She thinks that it would be better if she's the only one who knows about it. She didn't care whether or not she understood what was happening yet. But she would make sure to protect the secret no matter what.

"Okay."

She said then pushed at the bud again. She walked to to join the girls.

"I just finished having a talk with my boss. He apologised that he wouldn't be able to join you today. He said to hold another dinner party. That he would try to be there."

"Try to be there?"

Allison took a pause from the chewing, raising her voice.
