"Is that right?"

The white haired of the board members asked, more elatedly. The man who had just finished talking nodded his head.

"Mr Marcot was as right as ever. He said the lad would come around and he actually did?"

The white haired had a great amount of glee spread across his face.

"For a moment, I was worried that he would send the cops to come lock us away. I had no idea that he would be coming himself. We are really lucky and forever grateful to have you, Mr Marcot amongst us. It's a great privilege."

Another of the men said with much enthusiasm and sense of patriotism. He was excited and happy.

"It was the science of life. It was something that was bound to be. But do not get your hopes too high, we have no idea why he is joining us again. For a fact, we have no idea why he is visiting until he spell his intentions out with his own mouth."

Mr Marcot took his turn. He neither looked pleased, impressed nor displeased and indifferent. He wore a filtered gaze. His facial expression held quite a number of tricks to it.

"So admirable. Always practical and straight to the point."

Another member added to what had already being an ode dedicated to the person of Mr Marcot.

Point in time, the door to the detention room was pushed open.

"That must be him."

"Everyone get your acts together."

It was strange and interesting to see men who were experienced and had seen life at its best and worst cower at the presence of a lad.

It was hard to tell why their reactions were like that. But some of them didn't seem moved. The likes of Mr Marcot and the white haired. But it was quite difficult to tell, unlike Mr Marcot, whether or not the white haired was feigning the tough guy.

Denzel entered into the room first, pushing the door out of the way for Matthew, then followed by the most revered, Damien.

When Damien entered the atmosphere changed. Even the men who wore long faces had their expressions corrected. Damien's gaze came with a haze of authority and terror.

Though as much as this worked on strangers which he had met time to time, this never really worked on the girls. It was as though they were of different breeds.

He didn't settle down even though Mr Marcot had offered him his chair.

"It would be rude of me to take the seat of an elderly."

Damien made clear. The board members looked from one person to the other. It was hard to tell what was going through Damien's mind.

"Are these all the board members or are there more?"

He hit the nail on the head. There was a brief murmur which swept across the room, and all faces were supplanted on Mr Marcot.

"Well, we are twenty three. But only the representatives of the board came to meet you. That's how its always done."

Mr Marcot had gotten on his feet before addressing the topic.

"No need to get defensive, Mr Marcot. It's a thoughtful approach. Especially when you are meeting a new person."

Mr Marcot nodded, muttering what was clear only to himself. If Damien was told that he would be able to command such level of respect from extraordinary men, he might had argued all day. But there are some things thay are hidden deep inside the mud of time. As the rain of events wash through the surface, and the sunny circumstances heat the odds, they begin to surface.

"And please, you don't have to stand up. Do have a seat."

Mr Marcot was so stunned that he couldn't hold back his,

"Huh?"

Damien shot him a smile. He licked his lips then looked away. It was as though he was waiting for Mr Marcot to have a seat.

He also allowed the men to look from one person to the other. It was an interesting reaction which fed his heart to stupor. He allowed himself to enjoy the view.

While looking around, Damien's gaze fell on Matthew.

"My boss would also like to ---"

Mathew seemed to had misinterpreted the exchange of stray gaze.

"Come on, Matty. I'm the master of my own ship."

He smiled at Matthew. Even Matthew was quite moved by the sudden change of his boss. He didn't remember having a talk about that with the boss.
