Evan's P.O.V.

"I should go home," Annie said after a while.

"You are kidding, right? I am not sending you back there," I said gruffly.

"But I can't stay here either!" she adjusted her glasses. "She won't hurt me again. She was just in a bad mood."

"You can't be seriously defending that bitch?" I was dumbfounded. How much more is she going to endure?

"I just...that's my house. I have nowhere else to go and I don't want her to kick me out," she said.

I sighed. I knew she was right. We are just teenagers. I couldn't even make her stay with me without talking to my mom first.

"Okay, fine. But stay with me a little longer. Please?" I insisted. I wanted to keep her away from her cruel mother as long as possible even though I knew I had to let her go eventually. I made a mental note to talk to my mother about it. There must be something I could do for her. What if she ends up getting more hurt?

She nodded. "Thank you," she whispered. "For taking me to the hospital."

I didn't say anything and ran my fingers through her hair. She looked down and blushed. I wanted to kiss her again but I didn't know if she would want to at a time like this.

"Evan," she whispered. Her face twisted into a frown.

"What's wrong baby girl?" I asked and cupped her cheek.

"My hand hurts really bad," she whimpered.

I quickly grabbed the pain medicine the doctor prescribed and handed it to her with some water. She swallowed them without arguing. I can't imagine the pain she is feeling right now.

"I wish I could kiss your pain away like you did when we were little," I smiled. I wanted to more than a kiss but I couldn't tell her that.

She looked at me surprised. "I did that? When?" she asked.

"Mom told me you came to me when I had a scraped knee and kissed it. Then gave me this," I took the key chain out and showed it to her.

"Oh! This," she brightened when she remembered. Forgetting the pain momentarily.

"You were so sweet to me and look at how I treated you," my eyes were dark.

She moved closer to me and wrapped her arms around my neck then kissed me on the cheek. I jolted in awareness as her lips sent goosebumps all over my body. I grabbed her by the waist and pressed her against me more, then kissed her on the lips.

She was still reserved at first and kept her lips closed. I sucked on her lower lip and gently parted her mouth with my tongue. She gave in and grabbed the back of my head and tilted her head to deepen the kiss. My entire body was hot, I needed more.

I've never felt like this with anyone before.
