Annie's P. O. V.

I sat there quietly while my mother threw those venomous words at me. This was my daily life so I wasn't surprised. I could hear the shock in Evan's mom's voice when she spoke to her.

I didn't expect her to offer me to go with her. I almost wanted to say no as I didn't want to be a burden but the thought of going back to my mom's house and being emotionally abused made me want to die.

She held me close while the doctor went over the tests. She smelled nice and her body radiated a warmth that was so comforting. Is this what it feels like when a mother loves you?

"Well it looks like her eye condition has been deteriorating each day and today was the final straw," the doctor said. "I'm afraid there's nothing I can do to improve this, it's a rare disease," I heard him say.

"You poor thing," Evan's mom hugged me tighter.

"It would be a good thing to start having her practice with a cane and have someone to look after her while she gets used to walking around." the doctor said.

I felt a hand grabbed mine and squeezing it tightly. Evan...He didn't say anything this whole time.

"Honey, why don't you take care of Annie while I go talk to the doctor some more?" she told Evan.

Evan came over and sat next to me.

"I'm sorry I keep causing everyone trouble," I said. I wish I could see his face. What if he is annoyed?

"Stop apologizing. None of this is your fault," he said as he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer. I gripped his shirt and buried my face in his chest.

"I'm scared," I whispered.

He lifted my head and placed a soft kiss on my lips. "I'll take care of you," his voice was thick with emotions.

I didn't want that. I didn't want to be a burden. He must feel sorry for me now. I wondered if he will still love me with this big flaw.

"Everything is sorted. Let's go home," his mom came back and said.

Back at home, she gave me a change of clothes that she picked up from my house.

"Mom, is it okay if Annie sleeps with me tonight? I promise I won't do anything to her," Evan said to his mom. I blushed. Sleeping with Evan? Is that really okay?

"Eh...I don't know if that's a good idea..." his mom hesitated.

"Please, mom? I don't want her to be alone. You can trust me. I love her," he said quietly.

"Okay, just don't do anything stupid. Is that okay with you Annie?" she asked me.

I remembered earlier Evan was touching me all over and I blushed harder. He probably won't do that again, I thought. "It's fine, I trust him," I said.

Evan's P. O. V.

I led her to bed after mom helped her get changed. I was surprised Annie would trust me enough to agree to sleep in the same bed with me after what I did to her earlier. Maybe she forgot she was supposed to be mad at me because of everything that went down tonight. I helped her get in bed and tucked her in.
