The guard at the gate saw someone approaching and immediately asked, "Who is it?"

Sophie did not stop walking and showed her face to the guard. "It's me. Liam’s coming back soon and I want to pick him up at the intersection."

Seeing that it was Sophie, the guard relaxed, but he still did not open the gate. "Madam, it's already late. I’m afraid it's not safe for you to be alone. I'll get someone to accompany you."

Sophie smiled and pointed to Lindsey who had her head down behind her. "I'm with Julie. Don't worry, it's just around the corner in front. You’ll be able to see us from here. I've already told Liam. It’s only five minutes. Nothing’s gonna happen."

"Madam, it's not safe." The guard insisted.

Sophie took a deep breath and the phone she put in her pocket suddenly rang. She took it out and picked it up without looking at it. "Hey Liam, yeah I'm at the gate. I'll be out soon."

After a pause, Sophie sounded coquettish as she said, “Well, then get the driver to go slower. I’ll be right there.”

Sophie hung up and looked at the guard standing at the gate. "Liam’s waiting for me. Let me out. I have someone with me, so I’ll be fine."

Everyone working at the villa knew how much Liam pampered Sophie. Based on Sophie’s conversation, it was obvious that Liam would arrive soon and had already told her in advance, so the guard did not stop her.

It would only be a few minutes and it would be his fault if he delayed the couple from meeting up.

"Madam, don’t go too far then." The man nodded slightly to Sophie and pressed the button in his hand. The gates slowly parted from the middle.

Lindsey followed Sophie closely. She let out a sigh of relief the moment she walked out.

There was a turning just a dozen meters from the villa’s gate. Sophie and Lindsey walked unhurriedly and after they turned the corner, Sophie suddenly quickened her steps.

"Hurry! There are still people standing guard at the intersection, so we can't go that way. Come with me and go out from here. Someone will pick you up outside."

Lindsey could not run far with such a big belly, so Sophie could only contact a friend to send Lindsey as far away as possible.

They did not have much time and there was a crooked path at the dark side of the road. Sophie took Lindsey and walked inside.

"If you send me away, what will happen to you?" Lindsey carefully followed Sophie with the light emitted from Sophie's phone.

"I'll be fine." Sophie raised her hand to push away a branch next to her cheek. "Liam won't blame me. Don't worry."

"Look, right here. From here all the way out, there’s a small beach and there’ll be people waiting for you over there. Let’s hurry. I can only help you so much."

After Sophie said that, there were suddenly headlights that shone on the road that they just passed. Then, one car after another cut through the silence of the night. It sounded like it was quickly approaching them.

Sophie's eyes widened and quickly turned off the flashlight from her phone.

They could not see who it was and thought it was Liam who had returned. Sophie hesitated for a moment, gritted her teeth, and immediately made a decision. She pushed Lindsey and said, "Let’s go! I'll take you there so it’ll be faster. As long as you get on the boat, Liam won’t be able to catch up."

The two of them were cut by leaves and branches, but they could not care less.

Hearing Sophie panting in front of her, Lindsey suddenly stopped and pulled Sophie to a halt. "You can’t run anymore in your condition."

It was not just Sophie. Lindsey could barely withstand such rigorous activity. Moreover, they could not see clearly at night, so they nearly fell several times on the uneven terrain. With their physical condition, both of them were really not suitable to escape.

When she said this, Sophie also noticed it. From the time the alarm rang, it had been at least five minutes. No one around them came searching and there were no lights or voices. The only sound was the blaring alarm.

"What's going on?" Sophie was a little stunned. She then held Lindsey's hand and said, "It doesn’t matter. It's best not to find out. You only have this one chance. Let’s go!"

Sophie really wanted to send Lindsey away. It could be because of her own conscience or perhaps to atone for Liam’s sins. Since she had already successfully sent Lindsey out, she absolutely could not stop at this moment.
