Chapter 71 She’s Just A Clown novel Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean
Lindsey was only a few hundred meters away from the Guggenheim mansion. She stood on the other side of the fence and saw the driver getting out of the car. Then, a thin and beautiful woman quickly walked over from the other side of the car and opened the car door to help carry the man out of the car.
The man who was carried out of the car was Zayn Guggenheim.
‘What happened to him? Was he drunk?’
Lindsey subconsciously quickened her footsteps and when she got to the gate of the Guggenheim mansion, she saw Zayn’s arm draped over Jenny Lenig’s shoulders as she dragged him into the house.
She froze and thought for a moment if she should go in.
The mentality of retreating and avoiding them surfaced in her mind again. Lindsey clenched her fists, and after a while, she walked with determination.
Mrs. Wendy was pacing around anxiously in the first-floor living room. It was as if she found hope when she saw that Lindsey was back.
“The Young Master is drunk and Ms. Lenig, who came here before, sent him back. She has taken him upstairs and won't let us come near. Young Madam, you should go and take a look.”
Mrs. Wendy was so anxious. Lindsey handed over the things in her hands and said, “Put them away for me. I’ll go take a look.”
Lindsey was the true matriarch of the Guggenheim mansion. What right did Jenny Lenig have to order the maids around like this?
She walked over to their bedroom and saw that the door was slightly ajar, as if they were waiting for someone to come in. Without hesitation, Lindsey pushed the door open.
Lindsey stood at the doorway with her arms crossed and a cold smirk on her face. "Am I too early? Should I come back later?"
Jenny was just taking off Zayn's clothes and stopped to look at Lindsey.
"Do you need my help?" Lindsey lifted her chin, signaling at the man on the bed.
Jenny did not expect Lindsey to come back so quickly, but she still put on a show.
"Ms. Juhl, I'm really sorry. Zayn just said that he was feeling uncomfortable and asked me to help him. I just want to make him comfortable."
The meaning of these words changed instantly when they came out of Jenny's mouth.
Perhaps Lindsey had thought it through these past few days because she was not the slightest bit angry. She just looked at Jenny as if she were a clown.
"I don't want to see your face. You can either leave by yourself or get kicked out. Choose one."
Jenny’s clothes were in a mess and no one knew how it became that way. Lindsey saw Jenny’s fake face and felt revolted.
"You...when Zayn wakes up and finds out you did this to me, he’ll never forgive you!"
"I'll wait for his wrath then. Ms. Lenig, don’t you think it’s inappropriate for you to barge into my house saying these things to me? As long as you think you’re right, feel free to complain to Zayn. But now, get lost!"
Lindsey even smiled at Jenny after that.
Why was Jenny allowed to be rude to her and she could not do the same?
Of course, she could!
Jenny did not expect that after a few days of not seeing her, Lindsey seemed to be a whole new person. Jenny felt slightly shaken and was at a loss for a while.
When Lindsey saw Jenny leaving in a huff, the smile on her face dissipated. If she had to fight with Jenny every time they met, it would be a total bore.
Lindsey thought, ‘This miserable life is a total bore!’
On the bed, Zayn’s drunken face was slightly red. He laid there for a while, then reached out to tug on his collar. He truly looked uncomfortable.
He was also mumbling something.
Lindsey observed him from the side and could not bear to see him like this, so she went forward to take off his restraining shirt without being gentle.
She was used to seeing the emotionless and cold Zayn. With his pinkish face and wrinkled forehead, Zayn looked quite different from his usual self.
What made Jenny excited was that Zayn even got drunk.
It was initially such a good opportunity for Jenny, so she was upset that she decided to take Zayn home and even bumped into Lindsey in the process. She should have just taken him straight to a hotel and after the deed was done, Lindsey would not be this arrogant.
What Jenny forgot was that Zayn’s loyal driver had a duty to bring him home.
That night was destined to be a sleepless night for many of them.
Shaun went to the address from his memory and arrived at the place where his parents lived.
It was not an upscale neighborhood, but it was still decent.
Shaun did not call Henry Juhl and his wife in advance. He got out of the car, went into the elevator, and went upstairs.
Only when he stood at the door did he realize that he had not seen his parents for three years and had barely even contacted them.
The resentment in his heart suddenly seemed to fade a little as he stood outside the door.
Before Shaun could savor this guilt, a sharp voice from the other side of the door yanked him back to reality.
The soundproofing of the building was not bad because Shaun could only vaguely hear that his parents were arguing.
Shaun never had the habit of smoking, but at this moment, he wanted to smoke a cigarette to calm himself down.
A few seconds later, Shaun raised his hand to knock on the door.
"Knock knock...knock knock..." He knocked a few times before the door flung open from the inside.
"Who..." It was as if something was stuck in Stephanie’s throat. After a long time, her voice trembled as she said, "Shaun..."
"Mom." Compared to Stephanie's excitement, Shaun was much calmer.
