Third Person Ominous

Eva was having her lunch on her desk. She had been having a lot of work lately. Today she was busy since morning, as usual, taking dictation and typing emails. She was successful in changing her image in Taimur's eyes. She was not as dumb as she had acted at the start of their acquaintance.

Laila had called and asked her to have lunch with them. But Eva had to apologize to her. Before Taimur was back from his tour the three of them used to have lunch together. But since Taimur stopped doubting her ability for work, he had been keeping her busy.

She had brought lunch from home, avocado salad and smoked salmon, Laila and Ayesha were great fans of her cooking. And these days they were missing her culinary specialties a lot. She was smiling thinking about one of their recent banter when she noticed the middle aged woman stepping out of the elevator. She was headed straight towards Taimur's office. Eva dropped her fork back into the container and hurried towards the lady, she was a beautiful lady with intelligent green eyes. She was covered in Abaya from head to toe only her face was visible. Before Eva could say something the lady asked her, "Is Taimur in his office?" The lady had a commanding tone.

"Yes he is present, can I know if you have an appointment?" Eva felt a little nervous in front of this graceful woman. The woman looked at Eva with amusement and replied: " I don't need one". She didn't stop to listen to Eva's reply and stormed into Taimur's office. "Bloody hell", Eva hurried after the lady and entered the office trying to stop her.

"Mam please, I request you to please wait, while I ask Sir for an immediate appointment". Eva knew how enraged Taimur would be because of this unwanted intrusion. All the other secretaries were out for lunch break. And she was sure he would blame her for this.

Taimur looked up from the file he was studying, he passed a glance towards both the women. " I am sorry Sir for the disturbance, I tried to stop her but she". She left her sentence incomplete dreading what was to befall her.

"It's ok Ms Smith no force in this world can stop my mother from doing what she is determined to do". Taimur replied, smiling. It was the first time Eva had seen him smile, he really had a mesmerizing smile, "Maybe that's the reason he smiles so rarely". She thought.

She was looking at him awestruck as he rose from his seat and strode towards his mother. He hugged her and kissed her cheeks, once each. "It's been three months since I saw you, '' his mother complained. Eva was still standing there looking at the mother-son duo when he snapped "Out". Eva was brought back to her senses. She rushed out of his office in humiliation.

"What was that?" His mother asked with an expression of dislike. Taimur looked at her in surprise "What?" He asked, pretending like he didn't understand.

"I didn't raise you so that you would one day humiliate an innocent girl like that". She exclaimed.

"Please don't talk about her, she is testing my patience all the time". He replied disgustedly. "I didn't expect you would come storming into my office in such a manner". He laughed looking at her lovingly.

"Are you joking?" He looked at her bewildered. "I can't stand that girl here and you want me to bring her along on the weekend?" He looked annoyed.

" Why? She looks like a sensible girl. And she is very pretty too, and if she is such a pain in the ass for you, why didn't you fire her?" She asked him, trying hard to suppress her smile. She had just realized her fool of a son was attracted to his new secretary but was afraid to pursue her because of the past betrayal.

" I will soon when I run out of patience" he snapped at her. He was feeling uncomfortable from his mother's gaze which was fixed on every expression on his face.

"Well before you act on your plan to fire her, I will invite her to the party. Doesn't matter if you don't want to bring her as your date, she could be there as my guest". With these words, she didn't wait and stormed out of his office. Taimur knew she was determined to invite Eva to the party and no one in this world could stop her.

He punched his desk in frustration. He had been trying to avoid Eva as much as he could, he knew the effect she had on him. All he wanted to do was make love to her in every possible way there was for a man to make love to a woman. He had never felt like this about any woman, not even Sehar. Though he was head over heels in love with Sehar. His desire for Eva was increasing with each passing day. It was as if she had cast some spell on him, and now all he could think about was her.

No matter how much he tried to focus on other things, he couldn't stop himself from thinking about her. He wanted her and he wanted her badly. Ahmed and Riyadh had noticed his disinterest in work, and they were not able to get to the bottom of it. He was always rude to Eva so that no one found out how much he desired her. But his mother had found out his secret in only one meeting. And now he was worried about what if others also knew about his weakness.
