Third Person Ominous
She fastened the pearl bracelet around her wrist and took a last look at her image in the mirror. She was satisfied with her image. She had put a lot of thought into her outfit for today. It's not like you are invited to a Royal celebration often in your lifetime. She had chosen a pale blue chiffon off-shoulder gown for the occasion. It was a coincidence the color of her dress was an exact match to the color of her eyes. She had paired it up with a seven stranded pearl choker around her neck. She had tied her hair in a loose bun, leaving a few strands of her golden curls hanging around her face. A watch on one wrist and a pearl bracelet on the other. Her look was completed with a blue and silver eyeshadow and nude lip color.
The gown clung to her body like a second skin, showing off her curves. She had a doubt maybe it was a little bold. "Never mind, I am not an Arab so I am not bound to obey their rules of covering up". She thought as she looked at the bare skin of her shoulders. Mrs. Sikander Jahaan had invited her to this party with such love and insistence, that she couldn't decline her.
Aalam was very glad by this development, he insisted her to make full use of this occasion and try to lure Taimur into the trap. But Eva was not sure her charms would work on the Royal. It was as if he was immune to feminine charm. She had heard from Ayesha about the rumor that he was gay. And she was sure that it was not just a rumor. Because no man in his right senses can stay without a woman for such a long period.
She was wearing her silver stiletto when she heard her cell phone ring. She answered the call it was the driver Mrs. Sikander had sent to pick her. She picked her silver clutch studded with pearls and hurried out of her apartment. It was a long drive towards their mansion, and when they reached there she couldn't help but admire the beauty of it. Mansion term was an insult to the grandeur of this monument. It was a palace. The driver dropped her in front of the entrance to the mansion, she was greeted by two good looking men as she entered the mansion. One of the men escorted her towards the ballroom.
She was descending the stairs of the ballroom when she couldn't help but notice every eye was fixed on her, some with admiration some with lust, and some with envy. Her eyes were scanning the hall for the man she was here in the first place. Her eyes found him standing in the middle of the ballroom. He was accompanied by two men resembling him, "They must be his brother's" Eva thought. He was staring at her, their gazes remained locked with each other as she descended the rest of the stairs. She could recognize rage in them and there was one more emotion in them, she couldn't read. "What was it, was it lust or abhorrence?" Eva wondered.
Mrs. Sikander greeted her with her two daughters and two daughters-in-law at the foot of the stairs. They met her with such affection that she couldn't believe she was meeting them for the first time. Both the sisters were stealing glances towards their eldest brother, who was now busy in a deep conversation with his brother's. Eva sensed that something was wrong, they were in a misunderstanding regarding her and Taimur. She suddenly blushed with the thought of her being involved with their brother.
"We have been dying to meet you since umumi told us about you. Now we know why our brother had been so busy in his office, that he didn't even visit us once since he got back from his business tour.". The younger sister Mariyam teased her.
" I think you all are mistaken, it is not like this. There is nothing between your brother and me". She tried to clear their misunderstanding but they were determined not to believe her.
"Ohhh my God, what a wonderful surprise Eva. I didn't know you were invited, otherwise, we could have come together". Ayesha came suddenly from her back and hugged her. She was so glad upon her arrival because now she could get away from the teasing of the sister's.
She and Ayesha were deeply engrossed in the conversation when Ahmed approached them. Ayesha winked at her.
Ahmed greeted her and started inquiring about her health and job. She could sense that he was attracted to her. Eva suddenly had a plan, what if she started working on Ahmed, he was close to Taimur and would know his secret for sure. And he was much more amiable than Taimur ever could be. She smiled at him and engaged him in a conversation, without realizing she had been the focus of attention of a pair of jade green eyes.
Taimur was busy in a conversation with his brothers when he noticed her descending the stairs. She was wearing a pale blue off-shoulder gown which left barely anything to the imagination. Her figure was perfect.
Taimur was smitten by her. She was exquisite, and today in that blue gown she looked divine. He couldn't keep his eyes off her. He was staring at her when her eyes found his. Their gaze met and his heart started beating faster. He noticed every man in the room was ogling her. And he wanted to claw their eyes off their socket. "How dare they lust for something that was his?.
He was speaking to his brothers but all his attention was diverted towards her. He was stealing glances at her. He saw her chatting with the ladies of his family. He noticed her blushing when his younger sister said something. Man, he wanted her in his arms and wanted to suck the air out of her lungs, kissing.
Her long neck was draped with the pearl choker, how much he wanted to kiss it. The skin of her bare shoulder was shimmering like a pearl. He was barely able to control his urge to carry her off to his bed, strip her out of that gown, and make love to her till she was screaming his name.
Then he saw her with Ayesha and when he was just about to focus his attention on the other guests he saw Ahmed approaching her. Taimur felt a strong feeling of jealousy when he saw her speaking with Ahmed, all smiling and inviting. Taimur felt like pushing Ahmed from a high cliff. "Bastard" he muttered under his breath.
He could no longer focus on what the person standing with him was saying. He excused himself and took long strides in the direction where Eva was standing, enjoying her conversation with Ahmed. Taimur felt like snatching her away.
At the very moment, he reached Eva's side an announcement for the opening dance was made and before Ahmed could ask her to dance, Taimur snatched her dainty hand in his and strolled towards the dance floor.
Eva was caught off guard and was still in a shock from the incident that she was unable to show any sign of resistance. And before she could understand what was happening she found herself in Taimur's arms.
Holding her at an appropriate distance he started rhythmically moving his hips and feet. Eva was impressed by his dancing skill, "Was there anything that this man was not perfect in?" She wondered. "Manners". Her mind replied. Eva couldn't suppress her smile.
"Can I now the reason for your smile Ms Smith?" He asked in his signature cross tone.
Then she noticed another class photograph from University. Below it was written in bold letters. "Harvard School of Law". She again looked at the picture, he was holding a medal in it. "Don't tell me you were a law school topper. I didn't have any idea you have studied at the best universities around the world. I thought you were just another barbaric Arabian prince making one conquest after others in the business world". She was impressed by his academic achievements. She turned towards him and asked, " And can I know, did you bring me here to impress me with your academic achievements?"
He was standing so close to her looking at her with his green eyes overflowing with some unknown emotion. All her boldness and confidence evaporated in a second when she realized the situation she was in.
"No, I didn't. I just wanted to show you blue is my favorite color". he said in his husky voice as he took her in his arms and hugged her, resting his face on the crook of her neck. Eva couldn't even move. This man-made her feel things she never wanted to. She couldn't stop herself from melting in his embrace. His touch was arousing such desires in her she never dared thinking about. Then he started caressing her neck with his lips and nuzzling on her ear lobe with his breath. A moan escaped from her mouth.
"Who are you? And what have you done to me?" He whispered in her ear with helplessness. His words startled Eva. It was a part of her job never to get emotionally attached to her target. But she was unable to suppress the stride of emotions rising in her heart. Taimur lifted his head and looked into her eyes for a few seconds. Then as he was about to kiss her on the lips, they heard a knock on the door.
Eva who had closed her eyes in anticipation opened them, it was like she was woken up from a trance. She withdrew from his arms regretting that the moment was lost.
Taimur headed towards the door in frustration and exclaimed in anger at the intruder. "What on Earth is the problem with you?" As he opened the door.
"His Majesty The King has arrived and your father command's your presence in the ballroom". Riyadh replied with guilt in his tone.
Taimur looked at Riyadh for a few moments as if he was going to swallow him alive then turned towards Eva and spoke " I am afraid our rendezvous will have to be disrupted".
Eva just nodded in agreement. And strolled towards the door where both men were standing, she couldn't dare to look Riyadh in the eye and was just about to pass them, when Taimur caught her arm and requested her to accompany him with an increase in pressure of his hand on her arm. The trio silently covered the distance from his bedroom to the ballroom.
Taimur left her side after they entered the ballroom and walked towards the King. He greeted him by kissing his hands and bowing before him. Eva was watching him as were the other members of the Royal Family. "The future King paying tributes to the present one". This thought brought her back to reality. She couldn't hold but regret what had happened between them. "Who was she deceiving?" That man didn't belong to her. He could never be hers, instead, she was here to destroy him. She turned and left the ballroom, running from there as if she had seen a ghost. She didn't even remember to inform her host before she left.
