Taimur

They both were sitting in the living room of his suite in the Plaza and were eating in complete silence. Taimur just wanted to feel her presence. He still couldn't believe that Eva was with him and she had confessed her love for him.

He had waited for years to hear those words from her mouth and he just couldn't wrap his head around it, when it had really happened.

"I can't tell you how much I love you, and how much I want you", He said looking in her eyes.

" I love you too, Señor Taimur", She replied with a mischievous smile.

Taimur was looking at her mesmerized, her innocence her purity was what had attracted him to her all those years ago. Taimur had fought with himself a lot, to stay away from her then and now, but she was like a drug he was addicted to. He was ecstatic that she had come around and accepted her feelings for him.

Now he could give her everything, his love his life, and everything that he owned, hell he even could burn down the whole world for her.

"We will pick Emma first thing in the morning, I have stayed away from her for too long and I don't want to stay away from her one more minute", He placed his plate on the table.

" What are you going to say to Alia?" Eva asked him.

"She knows, she has known a long time now, I feel awful to have hurt her, she is the woman who had loved me and was always there for me whenever I needed her. But she deserves someone better than me, who would love her with all his heart", He said getting up from his couch and walking around the coffee table to her.

He sat beside her on the couch and Eva gave out a short intake of breath. Taimur knew how she had always been affected by his proximity. He leaned and sniffed her wait for hair, which smelled like his shampoo.

" Do you think, she will forgive you", She asked anxiously.

"She will, I know, she has a very kind heart, she can't stay mad at anyone for long", He replied to her straightening.

He shouldn't be doing this, Alia and Mateo deserve their respect. They will have to go through a lot because of their mistakes, but it was better to have lived in a loveless marriage.

It had been different before when Alia had not known the extent of his feelings for Eva, he had always hidden it from her. He had been living a lie, convincing himself that he loved Alia and Eva was nothing to him, but he had always known deep inside his heart the spot Eva held in his heart, no one could replace her.

" The past year's have been hell, Eva. There was not a single day that I didn't miss you. I tried hard to forget you in Alia's embrace, but I couldn't. Your thoughts would crawl back to my mind the moment I was alone.

"I know Taimur, it had been the same for me, there wasn't a day when I didn't sleep or wake up to your thoughts," she batted her eyelashes to get rid of the tears accumulating in her eyes.

"I am sorry, Eva, for everything that I had made you go through. My make ego was hurt that I couldn't make a girl fall in love with me and then you accused me of proving you insane. I lost Ahmed, who was my childhood friend and confidante," Taimur closed his eyes at the memory of Ahmed's lifeless body in his arms.

"I am sorry, Taimur, I had been wrong. I should never have accused you of something like that. I was just torn between my past and present at that time. I can't tell you how much I had regretted not telling you about Emma, each day of my life," she cupped his face gently.

Their eyes locked with each other, green to blue. She was the best thing that had happened to her. The limited days he had spent with her we're etched into his memory.

Taimur leaned and captured her mouth in a gentle kiss. They always had been too passionate in the past. He wanted to change it, he wanted to savor every moment he spent with her. To make up for the last year's they had lost.

What had he done? He had killed the woman he loved and who loved him back a hundred times, he remembered the last words she had said to him on the terrace.

"I don't know why Tim, but I feel like I won't see you again."

She was gone, he didn't even get the chance to apologize to her, to tell her that he was not selfish and that he would let her go because she deserved to be happy.

He felt Eva's hand on her shoulder, he turned and hugged her, resting his face on the crook of her neck, he was crying.

Eva rubbed his back and was whispering consoling words in his ears, but he didn't understand a word she was speaking.

Alia had died, and it was because of his mistake, he had created so many enemies and now they had struck him on the place where it hurt the most. They couldn't know what pain they had inflicted on him, how hurt he was right now.

Guilt and regret were engulfing him, his actions in the last few months have come to bite him and he was not prepared for it. He had never imagined something like this could happen. He had gotten selfish, he had been thinking about himself and what he wanted.

He had ignored his duty as a husband, his duty as a father to his son's, he had been so blinded by love that he had forgotten all his other responsibilities.

He should have been with Alia in this time, he knew the council won't let go so easily what he had done to them, they were going to get revenge and he had left Alia vulnerable to those vultures and was enjoying himself.

The vultures had come, they had come for her, why because she was married to Taimur, her only mistake was that she was married to him and she had loved him. And she had paid the price with her life, she had paid for his mistakes with her life.
