Eva

She was a sobbing mess when Mateo got back from his work. She was sitting on the living room floor, her back to the wall, and her head on her knees, tears were flowing out of her eyes continuously.

What the hell had she done? What the hell had she fucking done? How could she do this? How could she slap him?

"Eva, what happened baby?" Mateo asked as he leaned in front of her.

She looked up at him, he was looking at her with concern in his eyes. Was it correct, what she was doing to Mateo? She didn't love him, she loved Taimur, wasn't it unjust to him. He had every right to be happy, and a broken woman like her could never give him the happiness he deserved.

She had to deceive him, she was deceiving herself and she was deceiving the man she loved, and why was she doing it? Just because she didn't want to hurt Mateo, but getting hurt once was better for him than to live in a loveless relationship for the rest of his life.

"I can't do this", She whispered to herself.

"What Eva, what you can't do?" Mateo asked in a soft voice, lifting her chin with his two fingers.

"I am sorry Matt, but I can't live like this, I love him, I love him more than anything and anyone and I can't keep deceiving you", She said wiping her tears.

"Eva" Mateo looked at her in disbelief.

She cupped his face in his hands, and said: "I am sorry baby, but you deserve someone better, someone, who will love you, not me, whose heartbeat for another man".

She stood up still cupping his face, he rose with her from the floor, but he looked calm, Eva knew that Mateo knew this was going to happen someday, just not so soon.

"I need to go to him, I need to tell him, how much I love him. Before it's too late, I have lost him once because I didn't confess my love for him, I don't want to lose him again. I don't think I can survive this. Can you look after Emma, while I am there? She asked him.

"I will Eva, don't worry about her, go tell him, how much you love him, he deserves to know the truth. Don't worry about me, I will be fine, I was just caught up between two people who are madly in love with each other and I am glad, you both have acknowledged your feelings for each other", He said with a sad smile.

"Thanks, Matt", She hugged him and placed a quick peck on his cheek.

She fixed her hair and face, taking her handbag from the closet she left the apartment, it was raining heavily outside. It was difficult to get a taxi in this weather still she was hopeful.

She walked to the next block in search of the taxi not caring that she was completely drenched, she found one after half an hour. She gave him the address of Taimur's hotel, which she had asked from Riyadh.

Her clothes were completely soaked with the rainwater, the heater was on in the taxi, still, her teeth were chattering from cold. It took nearly another hour to reach the hotel, she hoped Taimur was there, seeing her luck she was not quite sure.

She asked for the instructions to his suite, the receptionist directed her and now she was waiting in the elevator to reach the desired floor.

She came out of the elevator in haste, she didn't even care about the looks people gave to her disheveled appearance. All she cared about right now was Taimur.

She knocked on the door waiting anxiously, praying he was there, but no one answered to her knock, she knocked again. Still, there was no answer, she was dreading that he might have left. She knocked one last time and was going to turn after no one opened the door even at the third knock when she heard the lock click and the door opened.

Taimur was standing there just in a towel wrapped around his waist, his hairs were wet and his body was covered with water droplets, it seemed as he just got out of the shower. The reason for the delay in opening the door.

He was looking at her stunned, blinking his eyelids to believe what he was seeing was not an illusion.

" Eva, what are you doing here in this storm?" He asked in a shock.

She didn't reply to him and just threw herself at him, he wrapped his arms around her and close the door with a kick.

"I love you, I love you so much that it hurts", She said as she kissed him all over his face gently.

Eva knew he was still in a state of shock, only a few hours ago she had slapped him, and now she was here admitting that she loved him.

" I love you, God Dammit didn't you hear", She cried with a scowl on her face when he didn't kiss her back.

"Ohh Eva, my love, señorita, ya Hayati, ya qalabi, ya Junoon," He said as he started kissing her all over her face.

Eva giggled in contentment, she knew she was finally home, with the man she loved and belonged to. The burden that she was carrying for years had finally lifted and she felt the world had turned beautiful again.

"That's not a wise choice of clothes when we both want to stay away from each other," Taimur smirked at her.

"Think of it as a test of your patience," she smirked back at him as she settled on a couch opposite him.

"I am not known to be a patient man, Eva Smith," Taimur rolled his tongue as he pronounced her name.

"Then, I think you need to make a little change because each day with me will be a test for you," she smiled mysteriously.

"Are you trying to make me back out from this?" Taimur arched his brow.

"Well, a girl can try," she narrows her eyes at him.

She had missed this normal conversation with him. It had been years, since the moment Taimur had found out the truth about her identity everything had changed between them.

Taimur had never been the same man ever again. Her betrayal had hit him hard and though he had restrained himself from doing anything extreme. He was not his normal self when she had fallen for him.

"What's on the menu?" She asked untangling her wet hairs with her fingers.

"You," he replied immediately.

"I thought we were avoiding that," Eva asked her brow.

"We were, but not when you are sitting across me, just in my tee-shirt, looking like a seductress," Taimur's eyes were getting darker with desire.

A knock sounded on the door interesting them, Eva heaved a sigh of relief. If not for the room services who knows what could have happened. Taimur went to the door, while Eva walked to the bedroom pulling out a sweatpant of Taimur from the bedroom and slipping into it.

She didn't want to make it harder for Taimur. Mateo and Alia deserved at least this much decency from them. The stubborn nature of Taimur and Eva had already been a cause of their hurt, she didn't want to worsen it by sleeping with Taimur.
