Flavian’s POV

Manu wouldn't even look at me. She stood near the bedroom door with her arms crossed, wearing a stern expression while staring at Sabrina. My first impulse was to go to her, but I felt a hand on my shoulder holding me back. I glanced over - it was Patrick.

"I keep wondering if the detectives here treat the criminals they arrest with such delicacy," Manu said, looking at Bonfim. She stared at him with severity, without a trace of kindness, but she wouldn't even glance my way.

"I think, Manu, that the detectives need to learn how to deal with a slut," Virginia said sternly.

"What circus is this, Flavian? Who are these people?" Sabrina shouted, standing in the middle of the room in her underwear.

"Well, you tramp, this is the circus, it could even be the madhouse if you want, but it's not a whorehouse for some skank to come stripping and throwing herself at taken men," Melissa confronted Sabrina furiously.

"Who do you think you are? Do you know who I am? Watch your tongue when you speak to me!" Sabrina challenged Melissa, and I was considering calling for police backup to control the situation that was developing.

"I couldn't care less who you are, you slut!" Melissa let out a cutting laugh. "What I do know is that I'm going to make you run and hide in some dark corner like the rat you are."

"I'd like to see you try, you pathetic thing!" Sabrina was playing with fire.

Melissa's eyes gleamed, and the wicked smile that spread across her lips scared even me. It was as if Melissa had been possessed by some powerful evil force. She lunged for Sabrina's hair, and when she pulled, the wig came off in her hand.

It would have been tragic if it wasn't so comical. Sabrina covered her head with her hands and screamed. Melissa burst out laughing, our friends barely concealed their amusement, Bonfim's eyes went wide, and I lowered my head with my hand over my eyes, knowing this would turn into a huge mess. The only one who didn't react was Manu - she maintained a stoic expression, as if she couldn't see anything in front of her.

"Look at this, the tramp is almost bald!" Melissa laughed uncontrollably, holding Sabrina's wig in her hands.

"You crazy woman! Give that back! I'll destroy you!" Sabrina screamed hysterically.

"I'd like to see you try!" Melissa threw Sabrina's taunt back at her but didn't return the wig.

Sabrina moved toward Melissa, who tossed the wig in some corner and grabbed her by the wrist, throwing her to the ground without barely moving. Sabrina screamed as she lay sprawled on the floor while Melissa laughed and crouched down next to her.

"What's it going to be, bitch? Are you going to get dressed, or should I throw you out on the street in just your underwear?" Melissa asked casually, as if she were asking Sabrina if she wanted coffee or tea.

"You're crazy! I'll get you and end you!" Sabrina screamed.
