CHAPTER 26

AMUSEMENT PARK

HARRY’S POV

Lindy gave Paul the directions to the amusement park while the other lads were starting to get busy with their monkey business now.

"Lindy wanna hear a knock knock joke?" I asked her.

"Oh goodness Lord." Liam exclaimed.

"Here we go." Zayn adds while shaking his head.

“What?” I asked them. “It is not so bad.”

"Don't listen to Harold, Lindy. It's really horribly bad." Louis continued.

"Is it really that bad?" she asked, innocently and I loved seeing how comfortable she gets with the guys around. I can see how they really like Lindy and I can see how they are trying so hard to befriend her and be nice to her.

"Oh come on guys.” I whined. “It's not that bad. My knock knock jokes always make Niall laugh."

"Yeah. They are hilarious." Niall smiles.

"That's more like it!” I feel pumped.

“You had to cheer him up?” Liam asks sarcastically.

“Shut up Liam you laugh at my jokes too.” I said before turning to her, “So Lindy, wanna hear one of Harry Styles' knock knock jokes?"

"All right then." She answered with a smile.

"Oh god. No. Harry, please do not embarrass yourself." Zayn commented.

The four of them laughed together while mumbling words under their breath that only they were the ones who could hear.

"Knock knock." I said to her.

"Oh sweet baby Jesus." Liam exclaimed.

Lindy chuckles before asking, "Who's there?"

"Ash."

"Ash who?" she asked.

"Sounds like you're coming down with a cold." I answered smiling.

I could hear Niall laughing with my joke while the other lads just smiled and moved their heads sideways looking as if it was that horrible. I glanced at Lindy who was smiling and snorting.

"Harry that was a terrible joke." Zayn said.

"We told you it was bad." Louis tells Lindy.

"What? It was good and funny." I answered back.

"Was it Lindy?" Liam asked.

She moved her head to me while she kept smiling.

"See, she's laughing." I pointed as a matter-of-factly. “She’s too speechless to say anything.”

"She's smiling Harold. There's a difference between laughing and smiling." Zayn commented.

"It was..." Lindy started saying.

"Yeah? It was good wasn't it?" I asked.

"It wasn't that good but it wasn't that bad either." She answers.

They laughed.

"I liked it. Really." She added while laughing along with the lads who were poking fun at my joke.

"Oh next time you'll laugh at my knock knock jokes." I tell them.

"You should give up on your stand up comedy career Harold." Louis said.

After a while, we finally arrived to this close amusement park. Lindy was the first one who got off while we fixed our disguises on. The night guard welcomed us with a sweet smile. He looked like an old man, probably around his 60s and I wonder how Lindy knew this man.

"Lindy! What are you doing here so late?" He asked her in a husky voice.

"Good evening Mr. Delbert, but I wanted to tour my friends around the amusement park. Can we sneak in for a while?" Lindy asked.

Mr. Delbert, as what Lindy called him, stared at all of us. "Why are they all wearing a surgical mask?" He asked Lindy while leaning closer to her.

"Well... They're... Sick." She said.

I groan, bad lie Lindy.

"Sick? They shouldn't be hear then. It maybe airborne." He exclaims.

I walked closer to him, took off my mask and beanie. Lindy was shocked and I'm sure the other lads were too. "We really wanna go inside."

"Harry what are you doing?" Liam asked.

"You're blowing off our cover." Louis said.

"Cover? Wait. Who are you guys? Are you thieves?!" Mr. Delbert exclaimed.

"Mr. Delbert, I'm Harry Styles from One Direction. We really would love to play around the amusement park even just for one night. Please? We'll pay.” I tell him.

"One Direction? My nine and ten year old granddaughters love you boys!" He exclaims.

"Thank you." I answered.

"Where did you guys had these?" Louis question curiously.

"Did you steal 'em?" Niall asked.

"No.” I answered. “There was this chocolate store that I saw, so we bought some. I left money on the counter and a note of list that we bought.”

“Isn’t that a form of breaking in?” Louis asks.

“Mr. Delbert handed me the key and I paid.” I answered.

"Anyways, this is cool. I have never been in an amusement park before which does not have any other people but us.” Zayn exclaims and I am happy seeing him enjoying since he has been getitng pretty sickly lately. “Let's go try more rides! C'mon!"

We continued getting on some rides which were absolutely hilariously fun. We walked to some booths, we played firing fake bullets to these moving mini soldiers, tried a mini basketball stall and had a little competition, knocking bottles down which Liam won and many other stuff that were enjoyable. I was having fun. On the bright side, Louis knows how to make a cotton candy, so he made some for us in different colors while Liam made some popcorn too. It felt like the entire amusement park was ours.

While they were getting busy on the cotton candy machine, I sat down beside Lindy on the park bench who seems to be alone in here. I moved my head to her and she looked happy while smiling at me before staring back at the others. I love seeing her smile. I love seeing her gray eyes light up with happiness. I love hearing her laugh and giggle. I love how she's so comfortable with us. I love how she laughs at the lads' jokes. I love how she gets along with them very well and I love....

I love her?

She travelled her head to me and smiled. "Aren't they adorable?" She asks.

I stare at her eyes and thought to myself, “Yes. I am utterly in love with her.”

“You are lucky that you have these four guys to help you.” She says to me.

"Yeah. They are one hell of a pack but they keep me on my toes." I answered.

"You have good friends Harold. They are very nice, funny and crazy. They care about you and they are really fun to be with.” She states.

She stared back at them while I kept my eyes glued on her. She was busy eating her lavender colored cotton candy and kept laughing while staring at the lads.

The lights from the carnival were glimmering on her eyes. The air was blowing her hair across her face that makes her push them behind her ears. Her scent was blowing along with the wind. I just kept my eyes on her. I stared at her lips, I wanted to kiss them. I wanna kiss them so badly.

"Hey you two! Wanna play a quick bowling? I saw an alley over there!" Louis called out.

"Let's play! C'mon you guys!!" Niall exclaimed.

Both of us walked towards the lads and headed to this bowling alley. As we entered, I held Lindy's hand while she pulls me inside the bowling alley and quickly got my phone, my camera flashed then took a sneaky photo where she was facing all the alleys while she was dragging me. She must have noticed it since she moved her head to me while I quickly hid my phone.

"What was that?" She asked.

"What was what?" I asked while placing my phone behind me.

"That was weird. I thought I noticed some flashing of light." She said while looking around.

I smiled and walked ahead of her, pulling her towards the lane where the lads were.

"C'mon." I said.
