Lethal Weapon novel Chapter 6

Lily Johan was adorable. She possessed a sweet aura that immediately erased Zane's fear. The girl was short and chubby, her height barely reaching the human's waist. Lily had cute deer eyes that were a dark shade of red, slightly hidden by the long brown bangs sitting on her head. Her hair was short and tied into two pigtails. The girl had a round face with a small button nose, hamster cheeks, plump rosy lips, and soft pale skin that glowed shined like the moonlight. She was dressed in a blue stitch onesie and her small feet were covered with bunny slippers. Lily stood next to her father while holding his hand. The wolf picked his daughter up in his arms and left a kiss on her forehead.

"Zane will take care of you now." The younger man said as his wine-red eyes pierced into the human. "I want you to treat him well."

"I will, daddy." The girl said with a bright smile.

Lily turned to Zane and gave him a bright smile. "I will treat you well, you are very pretty."

"T-Thank you." The cub's words warmed the human's heart. Zane glanced at the cub with a small smile. "I cooked dinner. Are you hungry?"

"Yessss!" The girl squealed and left her father's side. She went to Zane and looked up at him with cute eyes. "Can you please help me wash my hands?"

The human nodded and felt the small girl hold his hand. He composed himself and led the child to the dining room as the wolf followed. When they went to the kitchen sink, the human lifted the cub in his arms and helped Lily wash her hands. The girl giggled and dried her tiny hands with a napkin that Siddarth gave her. The elder sat her down on a chair and took a seat next to her.

"It smells yummy yummy here." The child said with a grin and Zane melted inside. This child was too adorable.

He served the little girl food on a plate and handed her a small fork. "Eat well."

"Thanks." The little girl took a bite of the small chicken piece and hummed loudly.

The wolf sat down facing his daughter and served himself dinner. Siddarth took a bite of the dish and felt the taste explode in his mouth. The human was a good cook. The chicken was delicious and also his daughter's favorite thing to eat. The wolf was pleased. He ate silently and observed the human who took hesitant bites out of his plate that had a smaller amount of food. It seemed as if the elder didn't have an appetite at the moment. It seemed as if he was forcing himself to eat. Dinner went quietly and Zane decided to wash the dishes. He found a new pair of gloves in the bottom cabinet of the sink and put them on. The human watched Siddarth carry their dishes to the sink. The father and daughter cleaned up the table as Zane did the dishes.
