“Go to sleep.”

Autumn had arrived, and it was too cold to go without a blanket at night. As Angelina nestled in Chester’s arms, she felt a sudden surge of melancholy.

In the end, he was destined to be with Rosalind. But she was finding it difficult to let go of him.

Sleeping beside him was warm and comforting. She loved the way he held her as they drifted off to sleep and the subtle scent of soap that lingered on him.

The next morning, Chester had completely bounced back

When the world was still cloaked in soft hues and the morning light painted half the sky red, he drove to a private club in the city instead of going for his usual run.

Although Louis was hungover from the night before, he still woke up and did his morning workout routine. He was on the treadmill, half wasted when a surprise blow caught him off guard.

He touched the corner of his lips and felt blood.

Before he could react, Chester grabbed him and lifted him up. In an attempt to fight back, Louis sent a kick toward him, but Chester dodged it and delivered a fierce uppercut to his jaw.

The gym erupted in chaos, and several people rushed over.

“Louis, are you okay?”

Louis‘ lips split, and he spat out a mouthful of blood. “Hold him down.”

This was his turf, and there was no way he’d let Chester disrespect him here.

Louis glared at him furiously, his face bruised and battered. He shook off the hands holding him back and sent a kick at Chester, but he was too slow, and Chester countered with a powerful blow, sending him sprawling.

“Stay back!” he barked at his men when they tried to help him up.

“Louis…”

“Get lost! All of you!”

Then, he struggled to his feet, bracing himself against the wall.

“Ambushing someone? Is that all you’ve got?” Chester rolled up his sleeve as she cornered Louis and gripped his neck, pushing him into the wall.
