Chapter 201
Just then, someone came over to greet him, so Rex walked away.
A little while later, Rex was about to head to the restroom when he caught sight of Maggie and Franklin standing by the side.
He suddenly stopped in his tracks.
The image of Franklin and Maggie embracing from a month or two ago flashed into his mind.
Before he could react, he saw Franklin holding a slice of cake and offering it to Maggie.
Rex watched them, pursing his lips, and walked toward them.
Maggie didn’t reach out to take the cake.
As he got closer, Franklin saw him and turned to greet him, “President Hardin.”
Rex said lightly, “What are the two of you talking about?”
Franklin chuckled, “We haven’t had the chance to talk yet.”
Before Rex could respond, Maggie, without acknowledging him, bypassed him and turned to leave.
Rex watched her leave, then his gaze shifted to Franklin, who was holding two drinks. “What’s this?” he
asked.
Franklin replied, “Specially made cocktails. Would President Hardin like to give it a try?”
Rex hesitated. “Is the other one for Miss Brown?”
“Yes.”
Rex was about to say something when Franklin suddenly added, “I’ll be over there for a moment,
President Hardin, feel free to do as you wish.”
Rex frowned, watching as Franklin walked off. He realized that, at some point, Julia had joined Johnny, and Maggie was heading toward them.
Rex froze for a moment.

Franklin was hurrying over, likely because he was concerned that Julia might be bullied by Maggie and
Johnny.
Thinking this, Rex furrowed his brows and walked in their direction.
Julia had only just arrived. She hadn’t even had the chance to say much to Johnny when Maggie came
back.
However, she didn’t mind and acted as if Maggie didn’t exist, addressing Johnny instead. “President
Gray-”
“Back already?” Johnny didn’t acknowledge her, instead turning to Maggie. “Are you okay?”
Earlier, he had seen Franklin walking toward her. He had wanted to go over but was intercepted by Julia
on the way.
Maggie shook her head. “I’m fine.”
As Franklin had said, they hadn’t had a chance to speak yet when Rex arrived.
So, nothing had happened.
At that moment, Franklin and Rex walked over.
Franklin handed the other drink to Julia and asked, “What were you talking about?”
Seeing him approach, Julia’s eyes softened. She took the drink with a smile. “I was hoping to ask President Gray for some advice, but I haven’t had the chance to speak yet.”
Franklin nodded and looked at Johnny. “I wonder when President Gray might be free to have a meal
together?”
This was clearly Franklin’s way of arranging a private meeting between Julia and Johnny.
Upon hearing this, Maggie’s expression turned colder.
Johnny, on the other hand, gave a cold laugh and said, “Sorry, I’m not free anytime.”
Before Franklin could respond, he turned to Maggie and said, “Mag, let’s go.”
Maggie nodded, not sparing them another glance, and turned to leave.
Rex, who had been somewhat concerned about whether there was something going on between Franklin-”

and Maggie, now realized that he had misjudged the situation.
Franklin was clearly more concerned about Julia and was actively trying to help her by arranging at private meeting with Johnny.
Rex now understood: there had never been any animosity between Johnny and Julia. Right now, Johnny
was Maggie’s greatest support.
If Franklin managed to break the ice between Julia and Johnny, then Maggie would lose her advantage and her sense of superiority.
This would indeed be a good thing for Julia.
After walking a bit farther, Johnny clicked his tongue and asked, “Are you alright?”
Maggie shook her head. “It’s nothing.”
Compared to some of the things in the past, Franklin’s little actions didn’t really matter.
Johnny asked, “Should we head back?”
They had originally planned to leave. But, unexpectedly, something like this had happened before they
could.
Maggie nodded. “Let’s go.”
Before leaving, they went over to say goodbye to Harry.
Harry hadn’t expected them to leave so soon.
However, he could tell that Maggie wasn’t the type of person who enjoyed socializing.
Since she didn’t like it, he didn’t want to force her and said, “Let me see you out.”
The Cole cocktail party was three days after the Becker Family’s event.
Harry arrived quite early that evening.
Without Julia, Franklin, Rex, and others present, nothing major occurred at the Cole party.
There were plenty of guests that evening.
Maggie and Johnny were both extremely busy and didn’t have much energy to pay attention to Harry.

Chapter 201
By the time the party was halfway through, they noticed Harry was chatting with Jason, and it suddenly occurred to them that Harry hadn’t left early as they had expected.
After all, the Brown Family’s cocktail party was also held that evening.
They had thought Harry arrived early intending to leave halfway through and attend the Brown Family’s
event.
But unexpectedly…
Johnny, quite pleased, couldn’t help but comment, “This is what it means to value our Cole collaboration. See? This is an example. As for Rex… I’m too lazy to talk about him.”
Maggie was also somewhat surprised.
Harry was being so considerate, so neither Maggie nor Johnny wanted to be impolite.
They walked over to Harry and greeted him politely, “Mr. Becker, there are quite a few guests tonight. If we’ve been inattentive, please bear with us.”
Throughout the evening, Harry’s attention had frequently been on Maggie, though no one else seemed to
notice.

Alguém saberia dizer o que houve com o livro, sem atualização a tempos...
Nada de episódio novo?...
Does the book stop? When are we going to get a new chapter?...
Olá, A história parou no capítulo 288? O nome do livro me gerou mais expectativas, quando ela realmente vai desprezar os dois e brilhar???...
Everytime I read new updates I am hoping to see Maggie completely moving on with her life not always checking where Franklin is up to with Julia. I think everyone reading this story by now understand that Franklin doesn't care about Julia. So what is the point of always pointing out how indifferent Franklin is to Maggie and how attentive he is towards Julia....
What does Helen mean Maggie is still married? Married to whom? Franklin has made it clear that he doesn't consider her anything and is flaunting his relationship with Julia for anyone who has eyes to witness it.So Maggie should wait for the divorce to be finalized to date. Isn't that double standards. And Franklin is dragging the divorce deliberately since divorced or not he does what he wants without any consequences. Really women are emotionally oppressed even authors only know that point of view 😕...
I feel sad for Maggie and all married women who have to endure emotional abuse with no end in sight. By the look of it,Franklin doesn't want to divorce Maggie for whatever reason. Either the reason is good or bad, Maggie shouldn't be humiliated like this just because she loves him. And the grandmother should be helping her get a divorce not emotionally blackmailing her, if she really cared about her. Franklin is using Maggie's love for the grandmother to abuse her. Is really loving people wrong? Author this one-sided hurt is not right. Let Maggie move on with dignity. It shouldn't end up with Franklin professing his love for her and her accepting it....
