Chapter 245
Hearing this, both Johnny and Harry turned to look at Maggie.
Maggie’s expression didn’t change.
Sophia had also arrived. She hadn’t seen Harry in a long time. She had specifically come with Julia. As soon as she saw Harry, she walked straight toward him.
“Harry,” she called.
Harry didn’t respond.
Seeing Harry’s coldness, Sophia’s expression darkened. When she saw that Maggie was also present, she pursed her lips, snorted, and then, with a smile, said to Harry,
“Harry, my sister and the others have arrived. Let’s go over there.”
Harry still didn’t acknowledge Sophia.
At that moment, someone approached and greeted him, someone who also knew both Maggie and Johnny. The four of them started chatting.
Left out, Sophia stood awkwardly to the side, her face growing more uncomfortable by the second. She could only leave in embarrassment.
On the other side, Levi glanced over at Harry and commented, “It looks like Harry and their relationship is getting better and better.”
The “they” here naturally referred to Maggie and Johnny.
Julia thought the same. After all, if Harry and Johnny had just a purely business relationship, in this kind of setting, a simple greeting and a few words would have been enough.
However, now Harry had been talking with them for quite some time. It seemed that Harry, Johnny, and Maggie were on the verge of becoming friends.
Of course, in Julia’s opinion, Harry becoming friends with Johnny was because Johnny was someone worth forming a deep friendship with. As for the rest, it was just a natural consequence.
Franklin, hearing her words, glanced at Maggie and the others but showed no particular reaction.

Julia also looked away and soon noticed Glen entering the banquet hall.
Following her gaze, Franklin also saw Glen.
Glen was dressed formally, looking even colder and more handsome than usttal.
When Julia looked over, Glen noticed her and Franklin as well. As soon as he saw them, Julia smiled and was about to walk toward him, but Glen turned his face away and entered the banquet hall from the side
with his friends.
Julia stopped in her tracks and sighed with a helpless smile.
She turned to Franklin and said, “He’s probably still mad at me for telling his family about his whereabouts. I tried calling him before, but he wouldn’t answer. Now that I see him, he’s ignoring me.”
Franklin replied, “Glen is still young. It’s normal for him to have a temper.”
Julia agreed with him.
What Julia and Franklin thought, Glen had no idea. After entering the banquet hall and greeting a few people, he was about to go over to the host when he noticed Maggie and Johnny standing nearby.
He froze for a moment, his hand tightening around his wine glass.
He hadn’t expected to see Maggie and Johnny at the banquet tonight.
Maggie was wearing a pale blue, floral–embroidered gown that accentuated her calm, elegant aura. She looked pure, flawless, and strikingly beautiful.
This was the first time Glen had seen her in formal wear. He stood there, mesmerized, his eyes unable to
leave her.
His friend, noticing Glen’s absent gaze, followed his line of sight and was equally stunned. “Wow, she’s gorgeous! Who is she?”
Glen snapped out of it and put his glass down. “Maggie.”
“Maggie?! That Maggie? She’s this beautiful?”
Glen didn’t respond. He walked over to where Maggie and Johnny were standing. “Mr. Gray, Miss Miller.”
Maggie and Johnny turned around in surprise, not expecting him to attend the event.

They nodded politely.
Harry, noticing Glen, asked, “Who is this?”
Johnny answered, “This is Young Master White,”
He briefly introduced Glen’s identity and then introduced him to Harry. “This is Mr. Becker.”
Harry remembered there was indeed a prestigious White family in the city. After hearing Johnny’s introduction, he greeted Glen. “Young Master White,”
After exchanging pleasantries, the group began chatting.
During their conversation, Glen’s gaze often returned to Maggie.
And the way he looked at her….
Harry, noticing this, paused for a moment, his grip tightening on his wine glass. He looked at Glen.
Glen caught his gaze, and they both exchanged a silent understanding.
In that instant, both men realized how they each felt about Maggie.

Alguém saberia dizer o que houve com o livro, sem atualização a tempos...
Nada de episódio novo?...
Does the book stop? When are we going to get a new chapter?...
Olá, A história parou no capítulo 288? O nome do livro me gerou mais expectativas, quando ela realmente vai desprezar os dois e brilhar???...
Everytime I read new updates I am hoping to see Maggie completely moving on with her life not always checking where Franklin is up to with Julia. I think everyone reading this story by now understand that Franklin doesn't care about Julia. So what is the point of always pointing out how indifferent Franklin is to Maggie and how attentive he is towards Julia....
What does Helen mean Maggie is still married? Married to whom? Franklin has made it clear that he doesn't consider her anything and is flaunting his relationship with Julia for anyone who has eyes to witness it.So Maggie should wait for the divorce to be finalized to date. Isn't that double standards. And Franklin is dragging the divorce deliberately since divorced or not he does what he wants without any consequences. Really women are emotionally oppressed even authors only know that point of view 😕...
I feel sad for Maggie and all married women who have to endure emotional abuse with no end in sight. By the look of it,Franklin doesn't want to divorce Maggie for whatever reason. Either the reason is good or bad, Maggie shouldn't be humiliated like this just because she loves him. And the grandmother should be helping her get a divorce not emotionally blackmailing her, if she really cared about her. Franklin is using Maggie's love for the grandmother to abuse her. Is really loving people wrong? Author this one-sided hurt is not right. Let Maggie move on with dignity. It shouldn't end up with Franklin professing his love for her and her accepting it....
