I sat up but Morgan looked as if she was glued to the seat. I bent down in front of her so I could look in her eyes.
"Morgan, you don't have to look," I told her.
She shook her head, "I want to," She stated and stood up.
We walked behind the desk while my father flipped through the pages.
"Do you think this will help find him?" Morgan asked.
"I feel that the more you know about your opponent the greater chance of winning," My father replied.
She nodded and looked back at the turning pages.
"Ah, here we are," He said.
The page had a picture of what I am guessing was Charlie's family.
"The Chance Family has been part of the pack since our family. At one point they were on the great council and where betas to some of my grandfathers. Charlie's mother, Santa Chance or Sadie, was a very nice woman everything that Charlie isn't today. His father, Michael, however, was hard at first but once you got to know him he let his walls down," he said.
"But what happened to Charlie?" Morgan asked.
My father cleared his throat and continued, "Charlie was an in between apparently. He was sweet but you had to get to know him first," He said.
"I don't get it. If he was sweet than how did he get to the way he is now?" I asked.
"I don't know, son. I do know that he had a sister, Sally, but she died in a car accident when she was eight. He cared deeply for her," He said.
"She was eight?" Morgan asked.
"Yes. Here she is," He said pointing to a picture of a little girl.
Morgan's P.O.V
She was adorable. She had little brown French braded pigtails with small bangs that went to the side. In this picture her two front teeth where missing and she was sitting on a young Charlie's lap. For some reason I felt sorry for Charlie that he lost this poor child.
"After her death he wasn't the same. He wouldn't talk to anyone. He wouldn't eat sometimes. It hurt him to lose her," Tommy carried on.
"What about his mate?" I asked.
"Well, from the information I have found that leads to him having on so as of now he didn't have one to my knowledge," Tommy replied.
"Alpha, do you come across anyone with the name Sarah?" I asked.
"I don't think it was Charlie. If it was he knew details about that day that I had forgotten. I don't think it was him," I said.
Tommy nodded, "Alright, if you are positive it was not him then I will look into finding this 'Sarah' girl," He said.
I nodded, "Thank you, Alpha."
He smiled, "Please, Morgan, you are an Alpha too call me Tommy." He said.
I laughed, "Thank you, Tommy."
John wrapped his arm around my waist and smiled.
"Do you need us for anything else, dad?" John asked.
Jackie walked up to Tommy and he wrapped his arm around her just like john did to me. They looked into each other's eyes for a moment and I felt the need to look away. It was a little moment between them that was precious. After awhile they came back to reality.
"Actually, Morgan, I was hoping to spend the day with you," Jackie said, "I thought you might want to see how my day goes since you will be taking over soon," she said with a smile.
I looked up at John and he squeezed me around my waist, and smiled. I smiled back at him and reached up on my tippy toes for a kiss. He bent down and our lips met. It wasn't like the kiss we had this morning, but it was sweet and small. Those types of kisses mean more to me than any other kinds. I smiled at him and looked back to Jackie.
