I shifted and took off for a run in the woods. Sabre had been restless since the day I had returned from Freya's birthday. He was missing his mate and wanted nothing more than to mark his mate. It had been three days and I was feeling like someone was draining all my strength. I knew this was because of the mate bond. I had found my mate and we were not together this was having adverse effects on my body. I was worried about how Freya could be coping with this?
She was not having a wolf, which meant that she was weaker than a werewolf. Staying away from me would only weaken her more. I hated my dad for making me leave my mate behind. Saber was becoming impatient by each passing minute. He kept on howling in my mind till I blocked him to the back of my mind.
Now also I had to take him out for a run just to control him. Sabre was an Alpha wolf, he didn't take anyone ordering around easily, especially when it was regarding his mate. He had fallen for Freya just in a matter of a few minutes he had spent with her. I was not surprised because Freya was the most beautiful and lovely girl I had ever met. She was unlike all the other girls I had seen or met. Freya was kind, loving, and shy. Though she was determined, she was shy too. If only I could have kissed her. I couldn't forget how soft her lips felt against mine when I touched her.
She had pushed me away the moment our lips had met, still, I couldn't forget how wonderful and perfect it felt to have her in my arms. Sabre was getting more and more restless from her thoughts. I try to block her thoughts and concentrate on my surrounding but I couldn't succeed. All I could think about in the last three days was Freya.
"I want to go back to her and bring her here along with me," Sabre growled through the mind link.
"Easy boy, Dad is not going to like it. We need to convince him," I tried to calm him.
"I don't care about what your father thinks, I want my mate at my side with my mark on her," Sabre roared.
This was what I was fearing, I know Sabre won't care about anyone else when it came to his mate. Mates were the most important thing in the life of a wolf. Being an alpha wolf it was natural for Sabre to act possessive about his mate.
Sabre halted while running all of a sudden. I think he caught a familiar scent in the air. Sabre sniffed the air again and took off in the left direction towards the stream. A familiar brown wolf was trying to catch a fish in the stream. Sabre leaped in the air and jumped into the stream with a loud splash howling in delight. I knew he was excited to see Rector, the wolf of my best friend James, the future beta.
Rector gave Sabre an annoyed look, he had scared all the fishes away by his splash landing. Sabre looked like he cared the least as he splashed water at Rector using his front legs. Rector growled at him, to which Sabre replied with a louder growl and Rector covered his eyes with his paws, an indication he had submitted. Rector was a strong wolf being beta but he was nowhere as strong as Sabre was.
"What are you doing here?" I asked James through the mind link.
"Was trying to get some food but you had to interrupt," he taunted back.
"How is Sabre doing?" he asked.
"He is not holding well, it is a matter of time before, he loses it," I replied sighing.
I had told James about finding my mate and leaving her in her pack because of Dad's reluctance to accept a wolf less Luna for the pack. James was the son of the beta and had been my childhood friend. We never had any secrets between us. James was a year younger than me and he still had to find his mate.
"Have you spoken to your Dad about Sabre?" James asked again.
"I tried but he is not ready to have a conversation regarding Freya. He thinks Freya is not fit to be the Luna of this pack because she doesn't have a wolf," I gave him a detailed answer.
"I still don't understand why she doesn't have a wolf? She is the daughter of the Alpha and Luna of one of the strongest packs in th world. How is it possible that she don't have a wolf?" James was asking the same questions for the last three days.
