"Clare are you sure you want to do this?" Jackson ask and I nod my head.
"I have been thinking about this for two years Jackson. I need to see him." Jackson nods his head calling down for his mate.
"Catlin take Lara for me please. I need to do something with Clare." Catlin smiles at me as she takes Lara.
"It is nice to meet you Clare." I smile at her knowing that everyone in the werewolf community knows who I am and what Derek did to me.
"You have a beautiful daughter." I smile before saying goodbye and following Jackson down to the cells.
We make our way down as my heart bats in my chest. Jackson opens up the final gate and we come to the spot where the room is. My hands are shaking at the thought of facing Derek. Jackson leaves leaving me with the guards and my key. They watch me as I walk up towards the door inserting the key.
I take a deep breath as I open up the door. The first thing I see is blinding white. I take a step into the room and I can feel a guard follow me in for protection. I gasp in shock at the sight before me. I see a man hunched up in the corner with his knees drawn to his chest as he rocks back and forth muttering to himself. His hair is long reaching his shoulders with is messy and greasy. The man doesn't notice us in his room until he looks our way.
I take a step back as I am greeted with cold green eyes which have haunted my dreams. Derek looks like a mess. Is face is hollow and lifeless. His skin is pale and his face is covered in hair that hasn't been shaved for a long time.
"We gave him a razor a year ago to shave, instead he tried to kill himself so he lost that privilege." The guard behind me says as my body shakes in fear.
"Clare." Derek's voice is rough as he cowers in the corner. Holding his hand. Conner told me what happened to Derek a few years back, but when I look at him all I see is the powerful man that ruined my life.
"Clare." He says as if he doesn't believe me. He moves which cause me to flinch in fear that he is going to attack me. I close my eyes taking a deep breath remembering what Conner told me about him. When I open my eyes again I no longer see the man that hurt me for so many years, but a pathetic excuse of a man.
