"Where were you?" Jess asks.

"I'm not even going to lie, I was out all night getting smashed and didn't wake up in time."

"Well at least you're honest." Jess says. "You can borrow mine, but you'd better return them."

"I will I promise."

"Okay, I'll give them to you tomorrow, but you owe me."

"Whatever you need." He says.

"Honey, I don't think you're able to give me what I need."

"Jess!" I roll my eyes and Derek chuckles.

"I bet you I can. Let's go right now."

She gets out from under his arm and pushes against his chest, his arm is still around me and he makes no move to drop it. "Not even in your wildest dreams." She says.

"Baby, you're always in my dreams." He tells her. She just laughs at him. He looks over at me. "You are too. Want to make my dreams come true?"

I laugh at him because he's just Derek, he's always flirting with us and we never take him seriously he's just a serial flirt. "Never going to happen." A voice says from behind us.

I turn to see Ian standing there behind us. How long has he been standing there? Derek drops his arm from me and Ian pulls me in for a long kiss. I'm almost too shocked to respond but I manage to kiss him back before I pull away. "What are you doing here?"

He puts his arm around my waist and pulls me to him as if to show Derek I belong to

him. "Picking you up from Pilates. I texted you about it, but you didn't text me back."

"Sorry, I left my phone in my car."

"I didn't know you had a boyfriend." Derek says.

"I don't." I say quickly. "He's....a friend."

"Well, if that's how you kiss your friends I'm jealous, we've been friends all semester and you've never kissed me like that."

I just grin at him not sure what to say to that. "So do you want to hang out before your next class?" Ian asks me.

"Yeah." I look at Jess. "Can you drive my car back?" I hand her my keys.

"Sure. You kids have fun but not too much fun." She looks at Ian. "And you'd better be wrapping that thing up. I don't want her catching anything."

"Jessica!"

Ian just laughs. "What? I got to watch out for you." She looks at Derek. "Come on you can buy me lunch since you're stealing my notes again."

"Yes, ma'am."

The two of them walk off and Ian laces his fingers through mine. "So who's that?"

"Derek, he's in one of my classes." I nudge him. "Jealous?"

"Of that tool? Nah."

"He's not a tool. He's a good guy. He flirts a lot but most guys do."

He kisses my hand and I lose all train of thought. Sometimes he acts like my boyfriend, picking me up from Pilates, holding my hand, taking me to lunch, for someone who said he doesn't do relationships he'd be pretty good at them. "I don't."

"Okay, food first. You have to get up enough strength for later." He gives me a wink and we start walking again. "So about that party, I really wasn't planning on going to it but Aaron talked me into it."

"It's okay, you don't have to explain yourself to me. Jess talked me into it too."

"I went home alone. Just so you know." He assures me. My stomach gives a little flip, I wanted to ask him that so bad but I didn't dare. I didn't want him thinking I was jealous or anything.

"So did I."

"I know. I didn't leave until after you did."

A wide grin stretches across my face. "So you were watching me huh?" He actually stayed at the party until after I left? I can't believe that! I didn't even notice him after so many drinks. I just tried to dance and have fun and forgot all about him and his redhead. Okay, maybe that last part isn't true, but I didn't notice him hanging around. I got totally wasted.

"Someone had to watch after you, you were getting drunk enough for the both of us. I thought you hated beer."

"I do but I don't know....I guess I was just in the mood to get drunk." He was watching

after me? That's so sweet! I didn't dare tell him the real reason I got drunk is because I was so

pissed after seeing that blonde hanging all over him. The plan had been to act like it hadn't affected me at all but that's kind of hard to do since I'm so head over hills in love with him.

"Well next time if we get suckered into going to a party let's go together. Then you can

keep all the girls off me."

I laugh. "You just want to watch me get into a cat fight."

"Can't argue with that." He says moving his hand to my waist.
