Nathan paused for a moment, "It's not just about that. I'm looking to expand my business empire, and the Stewart family has been a real thorn in my side."

Nathalie responded, "Since the Stewart family is holding you back, you should do what you need to without worrying about me."

Nathan hesitated briefly before opening up to Nathalie, "I don't necessarily want to take down the Stewart family. I've given them an offer: if they can formally apologize to you and help you move past your origins, I won't make things hard for them."

Nathalie's fingers trembled slightly. The mention of her origins cast a shadow over her mood.

Lately, she couldn't shake the haunting memories of her poor mother, who, after being cruelly abandoned by her father, ended her life in deep despair.

Her mother's tragic end had left Nathalie with a deep-seated resentment toward the Stewart family. Suddenly, she said with gritted teeth, "Nathan, you're doing the right thing."

Nathan gently stroked her head, soothing her, "Don't get upset. Remember, your health isn't great; getting angry isn't good for you."

Nathan softly patted her back, "I'll be good to you for a lifetime."

Outside, Ashley's expression was somber. She staggered as she ran away.

Nathan's affection for Nathalie filled her with envy, jealousy, and bitterness. She even thought that Nathan seemed more genuine than the McCoy family heir. It didn't make any sense.

Back at the Stewart household, Regan eagerly greeted her, "Ashley, did you see Nathalie? What did she say?"

Ashley took a sip of iced tea, feeling disheartened, "I didn't see Nathalie. I only ran into Nathan."

Regan gave her a knowing smile.

This winter seemed to drag on forever. Even though spring had arrived, the chill of winter lingered into the new season.

Since Nina was ready for preschool, Nathalie had carefully picked out a nursery for her. Wanting to personally drop off and pick up Nina, Nathalie quickly honed her driving skills and got her license just in time for Nina's first day of school.

Nathalie decided to drive Nina to school herself.

Nathan was concerned, "Let me take you both. You just got your license, and I'm not comfortable with you driving alone."

Knowing Nathan was swamped with work lately, she gently declined, "Nathan, you're so busy with work. I don't want you to be even more overwhelmed because of us. I want you to get some rest."
