Nathalie tried to brush it off, "Nathan, I'm alright. Seriously, don't worry. Just a little fender bender, that's all."

"Were you hurt?" Nathan pressed.

"It's really nothing," Nathalie replied carefully.

"So, you *are* hurt?" Nathan had a way of cutting straight to the chase.

"Just a tiny scratch," Nathalie admitted, feeling a touch guilty.

Even though she tried to sound casual, Nathan was obviously worried, "Where did you get hurt?"

"Just... my forehead."

"My forehead..." Nathan's side of the call erupted into chaos, like he'd dropped something and was now rushing around.

"Did you get your head checked out?" Nathan's voice was tinged with panic.

"I did, but I'm still waiting for the results."

"How are you feeling? Any dizziness or nausea?"

Nathalie's expression shifted; she'd been feeling dizzy and a bit sick but was trying to tough it out.

Her silence only made Nathan more anxious, "Don't be scared. I'm on my way."

"Nathan, really, I'm okay..."

"Please, just keep talking to me," Nathan's worry was palpable.

"Okay, I will."

As they chatted, Cameron sat nearby, feeling a bit out of place.

He wondered: Do relationships like Nathan and Nathalie's really exist?

He turned back to Nathalie, concerned again, "Are you sure you're okay? We should get a full check-up while we're here."

Nathalie reassured him, "Relax, the doctor already did a full exam. Everything's fine. It's just my head; they mentioned a mild concussion."

Nathan finally eased up a bit.

He perched on the edge of Nathalie's hospital bed, holding her hand, "It's my fault. I should've driven you this morning."

Nathalie was relieved, "Honestly, I'm glad you weren't in the car. I'd be worried sick if you got hurt."

Nathan said, "You must've been terrified after the crash. I'd feel better being there with you."

Nathalie playfully pinched his nose, "Risking your life for me? You silly goose."

Nathan pulled her into a hug, "I'd do it in a heartbeat."

Cameron sat there, looking a bit exasperated, thinking, "All this fuss over a little scratch. They're acting like it was a near-death experience. Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill."
