Greta was too ashamed to lift her head. Finally, she tearfully removed her ring. "I'll pawn this for you, okay?"

The diamond ring was quite valuable, and only then did the driver back down. The crowd began to scatter.

Miranda helped Greta, though it was hard to tell who was holding up whom, as they stumbled towards the hospital. By sheer coincidence, they ran into Cameron at the entrance.

Greta and Cameron locked eyes, hers filled with a deep sadness. Cameron's gaze instinctively dropped to Greta's bare finger. "You gave your ring away?"

Greta raised her empty hand, her voice laced with bitterness. "I once cherished it. Thought it was sacred, wouldn’t even let it touch dirty water."

Cameron's face turned even grimmer. Greta used to love him fiercely, depended on him. But now, it seemed she had moved on. Even their wedding ring, she could give it away just like that.

Greta suddenly burst into laughter. "Haha. Haha. My whole life, I've been selfish and self-serving. I wasn't a good daughter or a filial one. But Cameron, everyone can call me selfish. Everyone but you. At least my heart never wavered from you. Even when you wanted a divorce, I schemed against Nathan for you, saving Dawson International from going under."

"That was Nathan, the genius of the century. How could I have dared to scheme against him? But for you, I did. I even gambled with his life. Do you know how much Nathalie hates me? Cameron, how did I ever wrong you?"

Maybe Greta's words hit Cameron where it hurt the most, because his icy expression softened a bit. He suddenly let go of Nina's hand, walked up to Greta, and said, "No matter what, we're still married. I won't just stand by. Come with me to see the doctor."

Cameron took Greta's hand and led her away. Nina stayed behind, glaring daggers at Greta.
