Greta had landed back in the hospital once more.

After Cameron got Greta settled in, it hit him—he had left his daughter, Nina, waiting outside the hospital entrance. Panic surged through him as he rushed back to find her.

The night was still, a cool breeze cutting through the silence, and the usual hustle and bustle had long faded away. All that was left was little Nina, curled up on the steps at the entrance.

"Nina," Cameron hurried over, his voice full of apologies. "I'm so sorry, sweetheart. Your Aunt Nellie's condition was really serious. I got caught up in the moment and forgot all about you."

Nina's face was buried in her knees, but slowly, she lifted her head, revealing eyes that shone like dark gemstones. They used to light up with a smile for Cameron, but now they seemed empty, maybe even a bit distant.

"I'm always the one left behind," she said, her voice cool and detached. It sounded like an accusation, but she seemed unfazed by it all.

Cameron's heart clenched, and he apologized again, "I'm really sorry, darling. I promise I won't let it happen again."

He reached for her hand, but she deftly sidestepped his touch and stood up on her own, moving ahead.

Cameron stood there briefly, letting out a heavy sigh.

He caught up to her, trying to soothe her gently, "Are you upset with Daddy?"

Nina replied, "I'm not upset with you."

Cameron felt a flicker of relief, but then Nina continued, "I'm upset with myself. I shouldn't have trusted you, but I did anyway."

She suddenly turned around, smiling in a way that sent a shiver down his spine, "I won't trust you anymore. You've used up all the trust I had for you."

Cameron felt a sharp pain, like needles piercing his chest, "Nina, don't say that. Daddy's sorry. Can you forgive me this time?"

Nina said, "Daddy, you know, love and trust aren't things you can just get back once they're gone."

Cameron's face went pale.

Cameron searched for her at the crossroads for what felt like forever, eventually feeling lost and choosing to give up.

He tried calling Nathalie, but all he got was the message: The number you have dialed is temporarily unavailable.

That's when it struck him—Nathalie had blocked his number ages ago.

Out of options, he drove around, hoping to find Nina.

Over at the Stewart family estate.

Nathalie woke from a nap, only to have a servant inform her, "Miss, Mr. Dawson is here. He says it's urgent."

Nathalie, with her long dark hair flowing and skin as flawless as porcelain, looked otherworldly, even in a simple white nightgown. Her demeanor was relaxed, like a cat, entirely indifferent to Cameron's appearance.
