Lincoln's face was a mix of emotions, like a swirling kaleidoscope. Initially, he thought this smooth talker had charmed his daughter with his looks. But surprise, surprise, it was his darling Vivian who had whisked the handsome young man back home.

His previously cocky demeanor deflated in an instant. With a touch of embarrassment, he glanced over at Morris. "Sorry, I had no idea my Vivian was so assertive out there."

Morris's lips curled slightly into a knowing smile, and with just a few words, he had Lincoln eating out of the palm of his hand. Apparently, even a genius mathematician like Lincoln had his limits when it came to reading people.

No wonder Nathalie didn’t seem particularly sharp either.

Lincoln sneaked a peek at Morris, feeling a strange tug at his heart from Morris's cool, distant vibe that clearly said, 'keep your distance.' He flashed an ingratiating smile. "Nathan, could we have a chat?"

"Sure thing."

"I've got just this one precious daughter, and she's had her fair share of tough times with the wrong people. She finally met a good guy, but fate had other plans. Ever since, Vivian's shut herself off."

"I've tried setting her up with a few guys, but she wasn't interested in any of them. Now that she seems to have taken a liking to you, could you pretend to like her back? Maybe help her heal from her heartbreak—"

Morris quipped back, "Aren't you worried she might actually fall head over heels for me? Like, no turning back?"

Lincoln studied Morris. "Looks can only take you so far. I think she’s just intrigued because you’re something new and exciting. She’ll probably get over it eventually, right? Vivian’s not one to be shallow."
