Rejected Mate novel Chapter 22

“Good morning, my love”, I hear someone whisper into my ear, making me grin; I would recognise that voice anywhere.

I turn over and look at Hazyn.

“Hmm”, I respond, cuddling into him.

“While I would love to lay in bed with you all day, we will need to get up eventually.” Hazyn sighs, making me shake my head

“Not happening”, I giggle, making Hazyn sign before pouncing.

“Stop it”, I giggle as Hazyn attacks my sides where I am ticklish. Ever since I met Hazyn, something clicked into place in my brain, and I was no longer scared of my past; it still bothers me, don’t get me wrong, but it definitely helped to stop most of my fear, plus being a rouge for a short while I was one and everything going on in my life made me a stronger person which was just what I needed.

“Why should I?” Hazyn questions still attacking my side, deciding the only way to leave this torment is to agree to get up. I slowly exhale the breath I was holding and turn to Hazyn.

“Because if you stop, I’ll drag my ass out of bed”, I state, making Hazyn jump off me, taking my warm comforter with him—bloody male.

I keep my end of the deal through and reluctantly get off the bed. And start throwing on clothing for the day ahead.

I don’t know what today is going to hold, but I decide to dress comfortably in a pair of green and black workout pants and a black singlet to boot.

“What’s the plan?” I question, making Hazyn look at me with a smirk.

“Well, I thought we could go on a date and talk about the future, my beautiful mate”, Hazyn responds, making me nod my head as I grab a hoodie to throw on over my outfit.

“Let’s get the day started” I smile.

The minute the bedroom door is opened, I run out and start running away from Hazyn; I know he’s going to run after me, which is precisely what I want.

Before long, I run straight into Ben

“Shit”, I groan, falling on my ass

“Careful, Erika, you don’t want to hurt yourself”, Ben laughs, grabbing my hand and helping me up off the ground just as Hazyn catches up to us.

“You are a slow coach”, I laugh, flinging myself into his arms making Ben smile.

“You two are so cute”, Ben laughs, making Hazyn roll his eyes.

“Don’t you know it” I giggle before jumping out of Hazyns arms and grabbing his hand, leading him away from the hallway and towards the kitchen so that I can get a cup of coffee?
