“Where here” hazy calls out. I open my eyes and groan, not like this

“Alright”, I mumble, unbuckling my seat belt. I notice everyone lined up nicely outside in waiting to be introduced to the new alpha, something I’ve seen over and over again through the touring of the packs because Hazyn never told anyone who the new alpha is, just that there is one which I find interesting. Still, it’s something I’ve become accustomed to.

I allow Hazyn to get out first before making my entrance so I can try and get my nerves up to be able to get up out of the car.

“Hazyn welcome, where is this new alpha? Everyone is super excited to meet them” I get up out of the car and dust myself off.

“I’m right here”, I push out with my alpha tone to show who is boss.

“You know my Luna Hazyn”, I state before walking closer to Hazyn.

“What is this nonsense” Matthew yells out, making his father hold him back as he goes to pounce.

“The moon goddess granted us mateship, and since then, we have gotten married, and I took over as alpha when Hazyn resigned to Luna. If you have an issue with this, you are more than welcome to come and fight, but you won’t survive the attack,” I growl, making Matthew back off and whimper.

“Shall we go inside and get this over with” I question, making the alpha nod.

“We shall” I watch as all the pack members disband while watching me over their shoulder.

I follow the alpha inside the packhouse and keep my head up high while grabbing at hazyns hand. So many memories rush through my head and while I am here in a position of authority, for some reason being in this position makes the memories worse.

“You okay” Hazyn questions through the mind link

“Yeah, just bad memories”, I respond as the memory of the boys beating me up In the hallway.

I shake myself off as we land up in the alphas office to talk.

“Thank you for allowing us into your pack” I start the minute the office door is closed.

“You are more than welcome, alpha Erica, but I do wish you would have come at a better time. You see, we are getting threats from the bear pack, and I’m afraid it looks like it’ll turn into a pack war” I nod my head before turning to Hazyn, wondering what to say; the other packs were so easy to get along with but with this pack being my home pack makes it so much more difficult I’m scared that if I say the wrong thing I will still get punished somehow.

“Alpha Erika and I understand this is such a hard time for your pack, but I’m sure Erika would agree that if you need any help, our pack is only a call away”, Hazyn comments, making me nod in agreement.

“Thank you, it means a lot, but I do have to say I am surprised you came here”, Alpha comments.

“I can understand that, but with taking over as alpha as you are well aware, it is customary to visit allies and make sure the alliances are still in place”, I state, making alpha nod.
