Not long after the banquet ended, someone uploaded a video of Valerie playing the violin on X, captioned: (Mom, I saw a fairy today. She was playing my favorite song—I’m so happy I could cry.]

Within minutes, the post went viral. Valerie’s image began spreading like wildfire across the platform–graceful, ethereal, unforgettable.

At that moment, in the Walker family home, Kelly had just finished screaming at a wall after a heated argument with Renata. Still furning, she received a message.

It was the video—Valerie, standing beneath a soft light, her eyes closed as she played the violin like a dream. With her flowing dress and delicate features, she looked nothing short of otherworldly.

Without hesitation, Kelly shared the video in the family group chat. She almost tagged Renata directly, but decided that was too childish. Instead, she took it a step further–she added Valerie to the group.

Kelly: [Valerie, you were absolutely stunning. You looked like a real–life fairy.]

It was peak online time, and Valerie had always been the center of attention.

Rumor had it she was once lost as a child and had wandered homètess for years–Kelly had taken that as proof Valerie was just pretty decoration. She’d spent the past few days dragging Valerie’s name through the mud, trying to ruin her reputation within the family.

But now Kelly had posted this video? Renata, who had just logged on and seen the message, clenched her teeth in rage. And before she could say anything, Kelly tagged her.

Kelly: [Didn’t you used to play the violin too? Why don’t you and Valerie have a little friendly competition sometime?]

Renata: [Oh, please. That’s such a childish idea. What’s the point?]

Kelly: [Aw, what’s wrong? Don’t tell me you’re scared?]

Matilda, a cousin who had always sided with Renata, finally stepped in.

Matilda: [Kelly, you know perfectly well Renata’s instrument is piano, not violin. What are you trying to stir up here?]

Renata: [Forget it. Kelly’s always picking on me. What can I do?]

Kelly grinned and didn’t hesitate for a second–she pulled out the trump card she’d been saving: a video she had recorded during a previous dinner.

In it, Valerie was seated at a white grand piano, dressed in casual clothes, fingers dancing over the keys with effortless grace. Despite the simple setting, her elegance shone through.

Just then, Vivian entered the room and heard Kelly laughing. “What’s so funny?” she asked.

Kelly sprang to her feet, grinning from ear to ear. “Renata, that spiteful little thing, is always coming for me. Brody even called Valerie a beggar at the last auction, and Renata’s been trash–talking her nonstop, saying she’s talentless. But look!”

She opened the group chat, “Everyone’s singing Valerie’s praises now.”

Vivian blinked in surprise. “Valerie can do all that? When did you two become such close friends?”

Kelly coughed awkwardly. “Friends? Not really. I just can’t stand Wesley’s branch of the family always looking down on ours. I mean, even if we’re not perfect, it’s none of their business. Besides, if Valerie’s this capable, and I can use her talent to slap them in the face–why wouldn’t I?”
