chapter 1
Lilith Point of View
I nervously paced around the room, waiting for my result while James was focused on drinking his coffee. He would raise one of his perfectly arched eyebrows every few minutes and open his mouth to say something before closing it and shaking his head.
“If you keep up with your pacing, you would faint before your result would be released, Lilith.” James finally spoke while placing the white coffee mug down on the dark wood dining table.
“I still don’t get it, how are you so relaxed? It’s freaking Wulfric College, James; people barely get into it.” I said in astonishment.
“Language, young lady. And for your question, I don’t doubt your smartness. Believe it or not, you are extremely talented for a nineteen-year-old.” James expressed with a proud smile on his face.
His words brought a small smile to my face while my racing heart calmed down a bit. “I appreciate your words, James. However, why do you keep reminding me of my age? You know, I hate it when you use my age as a measure of my talent.” I spoke in distaste.
“Can you blame me? You are the only one I have met in my whole life, who is this talented even after being so young.” James remarked.
I sighed at his words before speaking, “True, I’m exceptionally talented when it comes to academics but I’m not the only one. Every student studying in Wulfric College is a genius.” I reminded him while taking a seat on the dark wood polished chair placed next to him.
The wooden chair made a scraping sound against the floor when I pulled it forward after settling on it, and I unintentionally scrunched up my face. “See, you got my point. They only take genius students and you are no less of a genius than the ones studying in it.” James spoke while I lightly shook my head.
Why does he need to be this sensible at times? Sure, I was a genius but getting anxious for ones’ results is the most humane thing. “Fine, I don’t want to talk about this anymore. So, when will I join if I get accepted?” I asked, trying to change the topic.
“You are their last candidate who is applying for an undergraduate program and you are fairly late. So, I think you will have more or less a week before joining college.” James informed me and I nodded.
