"Chase Murray. Beta of Alpha Flynn Cullen of the Umbra pack." Releasing a small exhale of relief, I turned to face the Luna.
Bowing at her, I greeted her, "Hello, Luna."
"I should've known you were her mate the moment you walked through the door earlier today." She smiled at me. "You ran right to her the moment you got in."
I smiled to myself. "I was hoping I wouldn't make it that obvious," I shook my head and rubbed my forehead.
"Understandable, but it's hard to do that when you've been waiting for your other half for so long." She smiled. "It's okay, honestly I'm happy you've been there for her like you have, Not many people do that." She stated.
"Correct me if I'm wrong but her friends almost ran after her tonight before I did." I stated confused.
"That is true, but that's expected of them, they're best friends. Though I can tell that you would've helped her whether she was your mate or not, it's a part of your character and that is something to be praised." She explained. "We had her in an all werewolf school with her three friends for middle school but when she came home with unexplainable bruises and cuts that were still oozing of blood, we switched her to Golden Valley Middle School so she could finish her last year of junior high and then she would advance to White Mountain High School with the rest of her classmates." Her story frustrated me, I didn't know exactly what I was feeling, I just knew that I wasn't happy.
"We told the school that she had Hemophilia so they wouldn't question her continuous bleeding. Of course there were other werewolves at the school but they were different. they didn't judge her Or feel intimidated by her. They accepted her for who she was. She loved her new school." She let out a slight laugh, "But now that every wolf in the West knows that she's a Lupa Alba, I'm not sure how the students and faculty will react to her new scent. Only time will tell."
I stayed quiet, not sure the right words to use. Thankfully the Luna broke the silence, "does she know?" she asked.
I shake my head.
"Are you going to tell her?"
"I plan on it, I just want her trust in me to be strong." I explained.
"I understand and respect that. It may take her longer than most...after the incident with Braxton," She said, remembering the run I had with him tonight, making my blood boil again.
"What did he do exactly?" I asked still not aware of the situation.
"let's just say he tricked her into believing that he was her mate and he was this close," she showed very little space between her index and her thumb, "to marking her permanently on his seventeenth birthday. luckily his real mate walked in."
"That son of a-" I mumbled before she cut me short, knowing where that was going.
"-but she's strong. So when you feel is the right time, you can tell her. I won't tell her father."
Nodding, I said goodbye and walked out. When I reached the edge of their territory, I shifted and ran back home.
-There's school tomorrow- Koda informed me.
