Mateo's pov.

I was waiting, sitting at the porch of our packhouse. Mindlinking, the pack wolves of the strategy we will be using.

A smirk making it's way on my lips as I think of what all I have planned for this so called Viper.

It's been years since I last used this strategy, but I know it's flawless.

Let's see how he escapes this.

I see Arthur coming towards me. And bowing.

"Everything is done brother. What next?"

I look at him to nod.

"We wait"

.

.

.

"Movements traced in Eastern and Western border. Central plains are clear."

"Shall we attack Alpha?"

"No"

I reject to only have Arthur to look at me in worry.

"But bro! They are just near our treasuries! At this rate they will steal everything and leave!"

I look at him with calmness redefined. As he paces in front of me in worry.

"They won't Arthur calm down. Our aim is to not stop them but to catch them with evidence."

"We don't stop them from coming. We stop them from leaving instead."

His eyes widen. To only have him finally nod. Trusting me with this.

While the stupid rogues were busy looting the treasuries. My people were slowly coming in ,to surround them.

Closing in from the borders,to concentrating them in the center.

Once assured that they were surrounded, I finally give my nod.

"Attack"

Shifting to our wolves, me and Arthur join our teams. To only hear a mindlink that made me freeze in my steps. Coming to a halt in the forest.

"It's a strategy Alpha! There are rogue deers and animals here! No trace of rogues!"

Wait. How can this happen.

"You heard thudding of footsteps. A movement was detected. How is it possible?"

"We did Alpha. But the steps were that of stray animals. They have deliberately left deers and antelopes to stray us!"

"Fuc*!"

I curse. How can they know. It's impossible. And that's when their plan becomes clear to me.

And I go still.

They are not after the treasuries. Sh**! They are after the Royal crown instead. It alone costs more than the entire wealth of our pack.

How come I didn't realise this!

"Where is the Royal crown Arthur?"

I ask him ,to make him look up at me in shock .

"It's in the packhouse Alpha!"

"Warriors at pack duty? Can you hear me! Is there an intruder."

Nothing. The line was silent. And I curse turning around to leave to only.

Find us surrounded.

Damn! Got to admit this Viper was something.

This was their plan. To make all wolves concentrate into the centre. By luring them to think they were near the treasury. To only surround them from around.

While their leader takes advantage of this distraction, to enter the pack house and loot the crown.

I see hundreds of wolves closing in to my warriors and I nod. Giving them the go to fight.

"Arthur. Manage here. I will get that bastard myself"

Arthur nods, while I injured the rogues blocking me to break through and run towards the pack house.

And there he was their leader.

Casually admiring the Royal crown. With a big smile on his lips.

He was a man with blue eyes and blonde air, with boyish features. His aura telling me he was of a Beta rank to be only banished later

"Beautiful. Isn't it?"

I ask. Stepping towards him. To only make him look up at me in shock. He covers it up instantly. Placing the crown in a sling bag hanging on his shoulder.

"Indeed it is. Pleasure to meet the infamous Mateo himself"

I step closer. Warning him

"See Rogue. We Alpha's have had enough of your bullshit. Surrender and I may leave you alive "

A smirk comes on his lips,as he straightens himself. Looking me in my eye

"You can try"

And that was it. I attack him, shifting in mid air ,to pounce on him. He expected this, shifting along. And we start rolling over the mud, gritting our teeth and howling.

I manage to claw his thighs chest and neck, making him whimper. He attacks back but I manage to dodge easily.

His wolf was way smaller than mine. And I knew I will win this.

So much ruocous because of this useless weak wolf .
