The Lie novel The Girl He Banished

Eirene's pov

Life has taught me alot of things till now. And one of them is to not trust anyone, ever.

" Why are you writing it? Can't you speak?"

Mat asks growing impatient, his grip on my jaw tolerable inspite of his raging anger. And I close my eyes feeling those sparks erupting.

Experiencing there luxury for those few seconds, till I could afford them.

'You don't have to'

Ren says , knowing what I was going to do. But she knew better to not go against my judgement.

In our duo, I was the practical while she get's easily blown by emotions. But past has proved indeed , that it's always me that brought us out alive.

Taking a deep breath, I close my eyes. To finally do it.

I nod.

And the look on his face made me wonder if he still cared for me. If somewhere inside him the Eirene that I have lost was alive.

He moves back , disbelief covering his features. To only say no, moving his head.

"This...this you are lying! You are doing it to avoid me bitc* ! Aren't you?"

" Trying to get my sympathy? Drop this fuc*ing act and speak now!"

" I won't take this bullsh*t!

He screams. Pacing in front of me, running his hand through his hair and I just stare.

His beautiful eyes begging me to say it was not true. But I couldn't.

I have gone through too much to turn back now.

His peaches died the day he ordered her to be banished.

I don't blame him though. I never blamed him, it's never people . It's the circumstances.

He had to choose between the girl he loved and had feelings for Vs the girl who got his father killed in cold blood.

I was not wrong in killing his father and giving him the death he deserved.

And nor was he wrong in punishing the girl who killed his father and trusting him.

Infact, if we think this from other perspective.

It was because of him, that I am alive or I would have died the very day,if he hadn't changed the capital punishment to banishment.

He hates me, yes. I know. But his eyes, they were screaming at me and telling me.

That somewhere in his heart, he still felt something for me.

That he still hasn't moved on.

Stepping in front of me, he holds my shoulders and shakes me vigorously.

"You won't stop the pretence huh? Let me get the doctor then."

" He will clear everything!"

I stare at him blankly, not feeling anything. As he turns around to only come back with someone.

" Ch-eck her!"

" Y-es Alpha"

I remember that voice. Looking up, I am in surprise to find Rain there and my eyes tear up instantly.

My heart joicing on finding my childhood best friend there, as the pack doctor. And I felt proud of her.

Unless, I remember. How she like others. Just stood there. Seeing them killing my father.

How she broke out friendship. Calling me a traitor.
