“Who on earth are you?” Winona snapped, frowning as she sized Nadia up. She recognized Wilbur instantly, but Nadia was unfamiliar.

Winona had known Maren before the kidnapping; Nadia hadn’t entered the picture until after that. As a result, she had no idea who Nadia was.

Though Winona had never met Nadia before, she could feel the hostility radiating off Nadia.

A small group of military academy students trailed behind the two, clearly eavesdropping–and now, joining in.
