Blackwood couldn’t help but agree with Gina’s words.

“Darling, mind telling me what went down here? How did that guy end up dead? And how bad are your injuries? Is anything hurting right now? I’ll get you some help right away.”

While Gina’s voice was firm, Blackwood addressed Maren with an unexpected softness.

The moment Blackwood asked these questions, Maren adopted a look of woeful innocence.

“I’m just a student who wasn’t feeling well and went to the restroom. Out of nowhere, that man showed up, pulled me in here, and threatened me with an axe.
