Chapter 135 Dispelling
Doubts
Blackwood couldn’t help but agree with Gina’s words.
“Darling, mind telling me what went down here? How did that guy end up dead? And how bad are your injuries? Is anything hurting right now? I’ll get you some help right away.”
While Gina’s voice was firm, Blackwood addressed Maren with an unexpected softness.
The moment Blackwood asked these questions, Maren adopted a look of woeful innocence.
“I’m just a student who wasn’t feeling well and went to the restroom. Out of nowhere, that man showed up, pulled me in here, and threatened me with an axe. I tried to fight him off, and when he lost it and came at me, a woman burst in, looking for someone. She ended up killing him, and that’s how I managed to get away.”
With a well–rehearsed story, Maren’s voice shook slightly, enhancing her credibility.
In response, Blackwood punched the wall in anger. “That damned Hyena, always targeting women. He met a fitting end!”
He was all too familiar with Hyena. Everything Maren described lined up exactly with Hyena’s twisted behavior, giving him no reason to question her story.
“A woman intervened and put an end to Hyena?” Gina focused on the crucial aspect.
“Let me guess, she’s also the one who dealt with those two guards outside as well?”
The thought struck Blackwood as he recalled the two lifeless bodies by the entrance.
Initially, they had dismissed the corpses, attributing them to Hyena’s excessive violence. Now, it seemed clear that someone had actively targeted Hyena, with the others merely caught in the crossfire. And it was a woman.
“It seems Hyena picked the wrong victim this time.”
Blackwood’s eyes then fell on the overturned crates.
The pieces fell into place–a rescue attempt had likely spurred the woman’s arrival, aligning with Maren’s story. “So that’s how it went down,” Giná murmured, her intuition signaling that something was amiss. “We have capable fighters on board; I should have been more vigilant.”
Blackwood, on the other hand, didn’t seem the least bit fazed.
Dragging in extra people had been Hyena’s reckless choice. As far as Blackwood was concerned, the plan was still on track, so he wasn’t bothered.
*Come on, sweetheart, let me get you some help.”

Chapter 135 Dispelling Doubts
With the crisis now behind them, Blackwood reached out to assist Maren. Observing her bruised condition and the still–bleeding cut on her leg pained him deeply
“Thanks” Maren leaned on him as they began to exit, but suddenly, an object shipped from her clothes.
“That belongs to me…” she said, attempting to grab it swiftly.
Yet, she was slightly too late or perhaps it was intentional
Gina, who was following dose behind, noticed immediately Her keen observation allowed her to catch the item before it touched the floor “knew something was off this is the proof”
“What proof? But Ten’t that just a student ID
Gina caught a glimpse of panic on Maren’s face, convincing her it must be some sort of crucial clue. She hadn’t even inspected it before making her claim Blackwood looked back, clearly not convinced
“A student ID? Gina finally examined what she had caught
Sure enough, it was an ID from the Royal Military Academy
“Are you really making a fuss over astudent ID?” Gina’s frustration mounted, having assumed the urgency Maren showed meant the item was of great importance.
