Valencia’s POV:

As we entered the Wolfe pack territory once again, this time with all five of us in tow, my eyes swept over the dazzling display stretched across the darkening sky. The last time we were here, it had only been for the engagement ceremony, and the decorations had been limited to the Wolfe estate.

But this?

This was something else entirely.

The entire territory had been transformed into a spectacle. White and silver floral arrangements lined the cobblestone pathways, and fairy lights cascaded from the trees, twinkling like fallen stars caught in the branches. Silver trinkets hung from every possible surface, reflecting the dimming sunlight and creating an almost ethereal glow.

It should have been beautiful.

Instead, it felt suffocating. At least to me.

“They really went all out,” Marcy muttered beside me, her arms crossed as she took in the sight with an unimpressed glare. “It’s gaudy at this point.”

I chuckled. “Don’t worry… I’ll make sure your wedding isn’t this gaudy.”

Marcy stiffened.

Then, ever so slowly, she turned her head to glare at me. “What did you just say?”

I smirked, enjoying the rare sight of her flustered.

Before she could snap at me, Caius hummed thoughtfully. “Yeah, we can have a low-key one in Dubai…”

I snorted. “Dubai is supposed to be low-key?”

Marcy shot him a murderous look. “We?”

Caius just kept smiling, completely unbothered.

I narrowed my eyes slightly, studying the two of them. Even though Marcy’s feelings were written all over her face, they had yet to put a name to whatever was between them. No ‘boyfriend’ or ‘girlfriend’ labels. No official acknowledgment. Just… this.

A strange in-between.

It was both amusing and frustrating to watch.

But before I could dwell on it further, my heart suddenly jumped in my chest.

Something was off.

As we stepped out of the limousine, my entire body tensed.

This time, the ones greeting us weren’t Aiden or Anastasia.

It was Lethia.

And Celeste.

A slow, sinking feeling crawled down my spine.

Why… did this feel so foreboding?

I kept my expression neutral, though I felt Dante’s presence shift closer to me as he also registered the change in atmosphere.

Celeste was the first to approach as Lethia stood silently sweeping her gaze across us all.

Celeste smiled—small, distant, restrained—and extended her hand.

I took it without hesitation, shaking firmly.

Even now, her personality seemed so… different.

In just a few months, she had changed completely. Her demeanor, her presence—it was subdued. She no longer carried that reckless, entitled arrogance. In fact, she seemed more like her twenty-four-year-old self rather than the eighteen-year-old she actually was.

Her deep emerald-green dress shimmered under the soft evening lights, but I didn’t bother taking a long look.

Instead, I subtly observed Lethia from the corner of my eye.

She was as poised as ever, dressed in an elegant deep-red gown with intricate gold embroidery. Her expression was neutral, but the air around her was thick with something I couldn’t quite put my finger on.

The atmosphere definitely seemed more subdued. Was there something else going on in the Wolfe estate?

I didn’t have time to dwell on it.

Celeste quickly led us inside, bypassing the usual formalities.

Odd.

There was no butler to greet us.

No maids.

Just Celeste and Lethia.

I cast a fleeting glance at Dante, who met my gaze with a subtle nod.

Celeste guided us to one of the separate living rooms set aside for guests, ensuring we had enough space to freshen up and prepare for the evening. This one was larger than most of the others, with two attached powder rooms, making it easy for all five of us to settle in comfortably.

By afternoon, we had washed up, changed into more relaxed attire, and eaten the light meal provided to us.

The real work was about to begin.
