Subtitle: her firebird.
** Melanie's POV **
I winced in pains as my eyes flew open.
My head hurt and my eyes where painful and burning as if a fire was set upon them.
I was laying on the dirty, dusty ground of the lonely dangerous desert where I remember was the last place I was before fainting.
I made to sit up when I realised a shocking thing has happened to me.
I wasn't human anymore.
I was feeling how huge and disastrous I was even without anyone showing me or looking in the mirror.
My whole body was huge, my height was as large as anything, I had a pair of four legs instead of two legs and two hands.
I was lying on my left wing which was red and feathery.
I was terrified beyond words at how I had transformed and turned into.
"aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarghhhhhhh! "
I yelled with terror through the huge desert as my voice echoed in the dust and horizon.
It made loud monster sounds but it was still melodious.
I began to sob which came out as a growl as I made to stand up which was successful.
I still hard the necklace the old grandma of mine gave me in my left paw.
I began moving a little and with each step I take it shook the earth beneath me which made me anxious and frightened.
I imagined how I would be if I was still in my human form and as if it did the trick I was back to my human form after a red light shined and seconds passed.
I had successfully transformed!
I tried thinking about my beast form again and I was already a beast again in seconds.
It did the trick!
I just had to think of it and it will happen.
I transformed yet again to my human form and exhaled happily.
But then when I looked at my hair, there lay a wavy red hair upon my shoulders instead of the curly brown hair i had.
I almost shouted out once more but surpassed my anxiety and kept quiet.
I had already being reborn from the ashes and even I can feel my own renewed strength.
I opened my palm and the necklace was still there, after which I slipped it into the new hood I had on earlier.
Surprisingly, when I transformed I discovered that my cloths do not tear up like they use to do in case of wolves who transformed.
I looked around the desert which was now somewhat brighter.
One can now see the vast non ending horizons of the desert.
I began roaming around the area and soon found the firebird egg I was given by my grandma.
I took it carefully from the floor and hold it in my hands.
It was glowing red which was a sign that it was ready to be hatched as. I guessed.
"now how do I do this? "
I thought to myself and cast the egg a quizzical look.
'you have to give me a name before you command me to hatch using my name! '
I heard a mild voice echoe.
Somehow I felt like it was the bird in the egg that was talking to me.
I smiled for the first time in a long time.
This little birdie seems interesting....
I thought of a name which will suit her more...
The bigger version of Latisha was also the bigger version of me...
Slowly it flew back into my palms as I caressed it's head.
I think I should drop the it and start calling her she.
Since we are now friends.
Together we headed back to the old looking desert castle to do some research about what I am and what were my abilities.
As we sat in the room that looked like a library in the old castle which the interior was still elegant I held a book in my hands as Latisha stood on my shoulders.
"phoenixes have the power to change just by thinking, they have the power to telekinesis, they can't telecommunicate with their firebirds directly, they can use the eyes of their firebirds to see in cases when the firebird is flying they can connect their eyesights and see what their firebird sees.
Most importantly they have the power to create undying fire that can turn into a disaster if it's not controlled well.. "
I read from The book as I nodded my head.
"now that your princess don't you deserve a crown and thrown or something? "
Latisha asked from on top of my shoulders.
"let's look around for any thing like that! "
I told Her as I stood up and began moving around.
I come to the high stairs which leads to what looks like the throne.
There was a red phoenix jet crown laying neatly on it.
I took it without thinking twice and laid it on my head.
Immediately the environment began to transform as I gasped in awe...
There was this new feeling of strenght that came along with it.
I no longer feel weak, there was a Prius feeling that enveloped my all through.
My surroundings was changing drastically.
