Chapter 56
Princess Lyna’s Pov
Lady Doria explains our great plan to my father and his council with pure grace and effortless charm. They listen with interest, not one looking away or interrupting.
I may have the confidence just like her, but not the wise words to make it sound like the greatest quest.
“So a stone exists that doesn’t require a person of pure heart?” my father inquires in awe.
“Yes your highness. The darkstone requires no virtue, Lady Doria answers.
But my father regards her with suspicion. “If that were the case I would imagine you would want to keep it a secret, use it yourself. I don’t understand what help you could possibly be needing from my daughter,” he says and the council members seem to be thinking the same as they nod their heads.
Lady Doria hesitates for long moment before answering
“Your daughter is the only one that can use the darkstone, your highness. It requires the darkest of hearts. The most unvirtuous, she answers genuinely.
Both my parents and the council gape in astonishment. It’s definitely not a complement to be told that their princess can use the darkstone because she lacks virtue. But I feel like I am better than them. Because their hearts are not pure and they are incapable of using the darkstone.
“I don’t know whether to be proud or ashamed,” father mutters. “But at least this way I will have a big say in whatever wishes are made.” he adds.
“That is very true. But I had assumed that we all want the same thing.” Lady Doria replies.
“Which is my father’s beta, Alan, asks
“To conquer the kingdom of the angel kings. There is enough gold and silver in their palace to make a mountain” she
answers.
“Can’t that be wished from the stone?” mother questions.
Once again Lady Doria hesitates to respond, seeming a little nervous.
The darkstone does not grant sweet wishes, your highness. It’s power is malevolent,” she says.
Everyone shakes their head, seeming disappointed and a little furious.
“Of what use is it then if nothing good comes from it?” one of the councilmen asks.
“Well, darkstone cannot grant you gold and silver. But it will help us conquer and take as much as we want, Lady Doria explains.
Father takes his time to mull over everything. But Miss Doria takes the opportunity to convince him.
“The darkstone will grant your daughter three wishes, and we can all choose what they should be. The mate of the angel kings has already made two of her wishes, so she remains with just one. How can we not win against them!” She says with vivid
conviction
She takes a sip of the coffee we offered her then carries on. “My cousins have many more enemies that would love to see them destroyed. We can invite them and their armies to join us
Father and the council nod their heads in agreement. “As long as the darkstone can protect us from the powers of the angel kings many will join us, the oldest of the councilmen says.
“This is madness!” mother snaps, slamming her fist against the long table and causing a mess as drinks spill on the laps of the councilmen “None of you actually knows how this evil stone works. You may end up destroying yourselves” she furiously
yells
Chapter 36
My father stands from his seat, the range in his eyes matching hers.
She falls quiet and sinks back in her seat, seeming afraid. He is her alpha and she must respect him or be cast out from the park
I shiver as he points a finger at me. “My foolish daughter has trampled on the good name of our pack so much that only by using that stone to kill the angel kings can our reputation be saved,” he announces. His council nod in agreement like they always do.
The skin of my face turns red with humiliation. He ridicules me like he feels no love at all despite me being his only child. I can’t just sit quietly. Even my nemesis, Keira, would have bravely fought back.
“Enough, father!” I snap boldly, rising from my seat. “Only I can use the darkstone. Show me the love I deserve or the first thing I will wish for is your death!” I hiss
The council gapes in astonishment. My father appears frightened for the first time and I feel a sense of pride.

“We will not succeed if we bicker amones, Lady Doria intervenes. She shifts her gaze to my I disapproving look. “Your daughter’s lack of virtue is the reason she is able to use the darkstone, your highness. She is better than we who can’t use any of the stones. All she will need is a little guidance, she defends me.
Father settles back in his seat, sighing in defeat. I sit again, feeling victorious.
“And where is the stone? It doesn’t seem like you have it with you,” one of the councilmen asks Lady Doria
“The darkstone was buried with my great grandfather,” she answers. “I cannot narrate his story to you now. But
your princess and her mate will escort me to his grave retrieve the stone,” she answers.
“My daughter has a mate?” father questions in shock
I did not tell him about Rumulus because he would be more disappointed in me more than he already is. No other Princess has ever been paired with a simple warrior. The moon goddess must truly hate me.
“Her mate is a fearsome warrior. He will be of great help to us in this quest,” Lady Doria answers on my behalf.
Father scowls in anger but doesn’t utter a word, seemingly too frustrated with me to wish to speak. Mother however p shoulder comfortingly.
“His love for you is what truly matters,” she whispers.
Lady Doria rises from her seat as if ready to leave. “I trust that by the time we return with the stone you will have gathered every enemy of the angel kings and briefed them of our quest and plans,” she addresses my father and the council.

The servants set delicious dishes on the table in front of me. But I have no appetite. I just realized that I am now stuck in an unbreakable marriage with my selfish, lying mates.
I was convinced that once I have restored their powers they would want someone else. Only to find out that they have been planning a grand, ceremonial marriage.
“You promised that we would divorce after I restore your powers. I remind even though I am sure they haven’t forgotten. “I do not want to be as miserable as your former queen”
They all look crestfallen. But they made me a promise and it’s the only reason I accepted to marry them.
“I am sorry to tell you that we never meant to o keep that promise. We had hoped that once we are married
I may be their queen for now but it doesn’t mean that I have to do everything they say. I can make this marriage a nightmare. “Keira, your father will be there. And we got just the right gift for him, Garren says in a charming voice.
