I had no idea that another stone existed until now. My mates never mentioned it. Which makes me wonder how much more they are hiding

We are all gathered around the breakfast table, alpha Cedric and his men included. Apparently an enemy can turn into your best friend in a day.

“Your enemies are gathering, and they are confident in your cousin’s guidance; alpha Cedric says in the most chilling voice.

“Doria is the one guiding them?” Fenris questions.

“Yes, that was the name in the letter I received.” Cedric answers.

Sounds like Conrad was right about it being a mistake to let your enemies live. I should never have pleaded for their cousin’s life to be spared. It appears that snakes never change, they just shed their skin and come at you again.

It’s shouldn’t be my problem. If only my mates had not declined to take part in another blood pact to break our vows,

Something they said to my father made him believe that they are perfect and I should like them. But it won’t take long before he sees their true characters. A day doesn’t pass without them displaying their arrogance for all to see.

“Doesn’t the stone need a person of pure heart?” my father asks.

Both my mates and alpha Cedric shake their heads.

There is a reason the darkstone was buried away with the last person that used it. It is the opposite of dreamstone. It requires the darkest of hearts. And nothing good comes from it.” Angel Conrad explains.

It doesn’t sound like a reason enough to keep the existence of the darkstone a secret even from me.

“Not even our cousin is capable of using the stone. It connects with the darkest soul” Garren says.

They must have someone to use it otherwise they would not have called a gathering.” Cedric points.

“The princess of Silverthorn definitely can. No one else can be more unvirtuous,” Fenris says.

It’s funny that he no longer refers to her as their former queen. Which is understandable because almost every single thing she did was embarassing, totally opposite of the grace they expected from her

If the darkstone connects with the darkest of hearts, I also have no doubt that she can use it. It’s of course a shame for my mates to admit that they once admired her.

“Does the darkstone have a limit of the wishes one can make?” I question.
