Chapter 60
Angel Garten & Por
“We are taking away her wish and not giving anything back I question, feeling like we have failed our mate in every way
“What valuable thing have we left to give her? Conrad questions
I try to think hard. If we were as wise as her we would probably know what is best to give her.
“I think we should take her to the sacred fountain” Fenris says, causing my eyebrows to wrinkle in confusion.
“How do you know that that thing even works? Conrad questions
“Would mother have taken us there if it doesnt work?” Fenris counters.
The sacred fountain is a little, scemie place far within the northern forest. It’s hidden between massive rocks and the fountain’s beauty and clear waters make it look like a piece of heaven that fell on earth
It was mother who took us there when we were little. She said that if you’re of pure heart the fountain’s waters can show you
visions of your future.
Since none of us has ever been of pure heart we cannot tell if it’s true. The fountain is barely known by many. But we kept it protected by our most loyal warriors. Simply because we loved our mother and wanted to preserve every single thing she valued.
“How will we ever know if it works if we don’t take Keira there?” Fenris questions,
“What if it works and shows her something she doesn’t like? Don’t you think she will hate us more? Conrad argues.
“Or it might show her our future happy life together. And she will finally be comfortable with marrying us. I point. “Besides it would be wrong to not tell her about the sacred fountain. Our mother would have wanted us to take her there, I add
Fenris raises his glass of wine in a show of gratitude for the support while Conrad takes his time to think.
“Fine. Let’s take her to the fountain, he finally agrees.
“It would be unwise for us all to abandon the palace at this time that our enemies are in preparation for an attack,” I say.
“Would you like to be the one to remain?” Conrad asks.
“No of course. You’re the one that thought it’s a bad idea to take her. Why don’t you remain?” I counter.
“It’s too soon for our enemies to be ready to attack. We can all leave and return before dark, Fenris says
It’s not like any of us will agree to be left behind so I nod my head in agreement.
Keira’s Pov
Margaret jumps up and down like a joyous kid before hugging me tightly. She will from now be overseeing the servants that work in the guest quarters, which means she won’t be so despised for being a human and won’t get strainful work.
Thank you, your Majesty. Margaret was getting really impatient with my efforts to get her a better job,” Michael says, also smiling in elation.
“Now we are even.” I say after Margaret pulls back. The two lovebirds embrace happily and I turn to leave.
Their love story is so simple and devoid of hurt. It’s like the true definition of unconditional love. I have never stopped wishing things were the same for me
I worry about the war that is to come. But I had to make sure Margaret got the better job she so desperately wanted. If Michael had not told me about Silverpaw park before I escaped that night I would have died searching for safe places to go. At least 1 luve now repaid the favour.
Chapon de
e my way down the grand staircase that lead to the ground floor. I could use a moment out in the sun to gather my thoughts. My father may be out there in the training grounds too.
But I meet my mates on their way up the stairs, all wearing tall boots like the floor of the palace is wet. Their anxious smiles make my stomach churn.
“Hey. We were looking for you” Fenris says, taking my hand.
“More bad news have come? I question
They all chuckle. “No We just wish to take you for a little adventure Conrad tells
Last time he took me for a litle adventure I ended up with my hand on dreamstone. If he were wrong about my virtuousness 1 would have burned to death.
“We promise it will be safe, Garren assures. “It’s the last of our secrets. And quite interesting” he adds, rousing my curiosity Their secrets have been bewildering. I wonder how stupefying or appalling the last of them must be Despite the the danger involved in following thein am more curious than afraid.
“We spoke with your father already, to get his approval, Conrad informs.
“Okay. I will put on my boots, I say and they nod.
“We will be waiting by the stables, Garren says as I turn and rush up the stairs. I change into boots and pants after getting to my room then make my way out.
I find them waiting by the stables just like they said, but each has a horse. I had thought we would use a carriage, not actually ride the horses.
“Why don’t you ride with me? I will make sure you learn more, Fenris says.
1 am trapped between his hands. And my body feels like it’s in heaven as his enchanting scent envelopes me. He leans in farther and tenderly kisses my neck. I have to bite down on my lip to suppress a moan.
Fenris finally straightens and steers the horse to move. His chest and abdomen remains in contact with my back. Tingles travel throughout my body every time the horse makes a slight leap causing his chest and my back to rub harder
“We are taking you in the sacred fountain, a little far into the northern forest, Garren answers, riding in front of us
“What’s in the sacred fountain?” I ask
