She was so useless. The only thing she felt grateful for now was that Brian hadn’t told her parents about the threats. Otherwise, Dereck and Stella would’ve forced her to move back home.
At least that was something.
But even this small relief couldn’t begin to heal the damage Brian had caused.
Jessica fought back her tears, washed up, and climbed into bed. She tried to clear her mind completely.
Time crawled by slowly until she finally drifted off to sleep.
“Oh, my baby! Kill her, Brian, you have to kill her! She murdered our child!” Madeline cried.
“I didn’t…” Jessica desperately tried to explain, but Brian kept moving closer.
Madeline’s piercing screams hammered against her eardrums, making her gag uncontrollably.
It hurt. Everything hurt so much.
But what hurt even more was Brian’s cold indifference.
Brian’s icy palm struck her face hard. “Jessica, I’ll let this slide since you gave me three children. But you have to give your baby to Maddie.”
“I don’t want it. I only want my own child.” Madeline spoke with disgust, about to throw the baby that had been forced into her arms.
Jessica’s eyes went wide. Without thinking, she lunged forward.
“No!!!” Jessica bolted upright in bed.
The nightmare’s terror followed Jessica into the waking world. Jessica’s face was ghost–white with fear.
She pressed both hands against her belly, desperately trying to feel for the babies‘ heartbeat. Only when she felt that gentle flutter did her breathing slow.
It was just a dream. Her children were safe.
“Babies, Mommy will protect you no matter what,” Jessica whispered to her belly, her eyes fierce with determination.
The next morning, Brian brought her breakfast as usual. But the moment he stepped closer, Jessica backed away.
“Don’t come near me!” Jessica stared at him with pure distrust, her hands instinctively shielding her stomach.
“Jessi?” Brian looked at her with confusion and hurt.
“Just go. I don’t want to see you right now.” Jessica turned her head away, forcing herself to ignore the pain in his eyes.
She knew she was being unfair, taking out her anger on Brian over a stupid dream. But she couldn’t help it.
If anyone was to blame, it was Brian for letting Madeline get away with everything.
With that thought hardening her resolve, Jessica walked past him without another word.
Brian wanted to chase after her, but Jessica’s guarded eyes kept flashing in his mind. He finally stopped where he was.

Chapter 347
After leaving, Jessica didn’t go to the office. Instead, she drove straight to Wesley’s.
“Ms. Grant, this is the third day in a row you’ve come to see me. Are you sure you won’t consider my earlier suggestion?” Wesley asked.
He looked helpless when he saw her.
