I slump down onto the new soft cushioned sofa and let out a sigh of relief. I lift up my legs and place the on the opposite armrest from where my head lays.
I close my eyes and hum a familiar tune I have sing to each of my children every night. A lullaby I had always loved as a child, Lavender Blue.
My peace is short lived when the front door opens and in burst my two nephews, Nathan and Davy.
"Hey lil sis!" My brother Jace shouts coming in after them with his wife and mate Sandra, whom he met 4 years ago.
"Awntie!" My nephews shout together jumping on me and giving me a hug. I laugh and hug them back.
"Hey Nathan! Hey Davy!" I say laughing before they run out of the room and into the kitchen.
"Hey Maia!" Sandra says leaning down to give me a hug. I squeeze her back before she retreats to sit opposite me with her husband.
"How you feeling?" Jace asks motioning towards my overgrown stomach. My arm instantly wraps around it, ever since I lost my first child I was constantly worried about my children.
"I'm feeling like crap." I say honestly "I'm not very good at pregnancy. Cravings, mood swings and hormones. I mean why do we get the pain of giving birth and carrying a baby for 9 months! All men have to do is be there for the sex which is pleasurable for them! Not us!"
"Chill out Sis!" Jace chuckles hugging Sandra from the side, I wish Austin was here. He had been gone all day to train some new recruits and then went for an Alpha meeting.
Sandra laughs "don't worry I was terrible on my first, Liam gave me so many problems and cravings. The worst was sardines smothered in Nutella and crushed potato chips"
I scrunch up my nose, I hate sardines. I mean ewwwwwww.
"At the moment I'm just craving soup. Any soup! My favourite right now would have to be chicken noodle and sweet corn though. My mum always makes it in the winter." I exclaim picturing the beautiful soup.
"I'll go fetch you some!" Jace says jumping up "it is December after all, mums famous winter soup coming up! Sandra do you want some?"
"Oh yes please love!" Sandra exclaims standing up and walking after her mate. I'm once again left alone but I smile at the distant laughs from the children.
"Mommy!" I hear Mikey's voice shout loud and clear then suddenly he runs to me. He lands on my chest making me huff out a breath.
