Jessica couldn’t help but twitch the corner of her mouth.

‘To hear such words from the Demon King himself, now that’s truly rare, Jessica thought.

Jessica sighed, “Men and women should keep their distance…”

Leon shrugged nonchalantly. “Well, I can just stop thinking of you as a woman. Problem solved, right?”

But Jessica glared at him, her eyes icy cold.

Leon sighed helplessly. “Alright then, how about you just don’t think of me as a man?”

Laughter suddenly rang out from the room.

Shawn let out a long sigh and nudged Magnus in the side with his elbow. “Say, do you think the big day is coming soon for Leon House?

Magnus shot him a cold look. “Is it your place to comment on His Highness’s affairs?”

Shawn shorted. “Don’t tell me you’re not anxious too.”

“What would I be anxious about?” Magnus replied, his face expressionless.

“About seeing this place liven up! If we had a few little kids running around the manor, I bet even you couldn’t help but smile,” Shawn teased.

Magnus said nothing, but in his mind, he pictured Leon helplessly facing a bunch of little rascals, just like he was with Jessica. The corners of his mouth couldn’t help but twitch into a faint smile.

‘Well… maybe having a few little rascals around wouldn’t be so bad after all,‘ he thought to himself.

Jessica and Garbisch ended up staying at Leon House for two days.

On the third day, Andrew arrived at Leon House.

Andrew said respectfully, “Ms. Yates, His Majesty wishes for you to decide Priscilla’s punishment.”

Jessica blinked in surprise. “You want me to decide?”

Jessica had just finished patrolling the backyard when she saw Andrew standing outside the main hall, flanked by several guards.

Wait, Priscilla? Wasn’t that woman already sent back to Waldo House?‘ Jessica thought, her brow furrowing in disbelief.

Actually, ever since Waldo was taken back from the hunting grounds, Jessica hadn’t seen him again, nor had she paid any attention to Priscilla’s affairs.

Earlier that day, she had met with Markus.

For the past few days, Markus had been investigating the black wolves, but the whole affair was utterly bizarre. After that incident, he led the royal guards to scour the hunting grounds, yet not a single black wolf was found.

No one knew where they had come from when they swarmed Leon, nor where they had vanished to. Not a trace remained.

The mystery still weighed heavily on Jessica’s mind.

She’d been so busy these days, not only investigating the assassination attempt on Leon, but also babysitting that ridiculously dramatic prince who wouldn’t even eat if he was in a bad mood. With all this going on, she could not possibly have the energy to care about anyone else.
