“You reached out to Jason, Zachary, and Matthew Zeller behind my back. Don’t you think that’s also wrong?” Alastor could not fathom why Anastasia consistently clung to the belief that she had not committed any errors.

If he truly harbored no feelings for her, he believed he wouldn’t be so infuriated by those actions.

“Once, I believed I was exceptionally lucky to encounter someone unlike the rest, yet now I understand that nobody can evade the constraints of society.” Anastasia chuckled softly and shook her head.

“Did you inform Grandma about our divorce?” Alastor redirected the conversation. Truthfully, he was not interested in arguing with Anastasia.

Anastasia ignored Alastor.

“Anastasia… Must we engage in an argument every time we meet?” Alastor trailed behind Anastasia. Since she declined to ride in his car, he chose to accompany her on the subway.

“Grandma Andrca mentioned that she has eyes and keeps up with the news,” Anastasia stated, fixing her gaze on Alastor. “Are you attempting to shift the blame onto me once more? You’re the one who announced the news and initiated the divorce. Yet, you’re also the one who hesitates and declines to finalize the divorce certificate with me. What exactly is it that want?”

“I don’t want a divorce.” Alastor finally mustered the courage to confess that he did not want a divorce.

“Ha…” Anastasia scoffed sarcastically. “And why’s that? Did you suddenly fall in love with me?”

Alastor frowned when he heard her words. He wanted to say something, but eventually, he remained silent.
