“Why else would that happen? Who else can make the village head’s son kneel and beg me?” Anastasia had always thought that Alastor was the one who helped her, so she was very grateful to him, promising him a blitz marriage.

Because she not only wanted a home but also the sense of security that Alastor could give.

She once wanted favoritism and a future that she could look forward to.

Anastasia’s phone vibrated. She glanced at it, noticing a call from Zeke.

Annoyed, Anastasia ended the call without picking it up.

But Zeke called again soon. It seemed that he had something urgent to tell her.

“Hello?” Anastasia answered.

“Anastasia, I’m Sienna. Dad is in trouble. He is in the hospital now and has a brain hemorrhage, needing surgery. Please deliver us some money,” Sienna’s anxious voice came from the phone.

Sienna was not anxious because she was worried about Zeke. Instead, she was anxious for Anastasia to send her the money.

Anastasia breathed hard and said in a hoarse voice. “Which hospital? What’s going on?”

“The emergency department of Hork General Hospital. Please come quickly.”

After hanging up the phone, Anastasia got in the car anxiously.

Jason wanted to say something, but seeing Anastasia’s hand trembling, he took the initiative to hold her wrist. “Take the passenger seat. I’ll drive.”

Anastasia sat on the passenger seat unsteadily, her fingers trembling

She mused. “Why did he suddenly have a brain hemorrhage?”

“Don’t worry. He will be fine.”

Anastasia leaned against the back of her seat and smirked. “I’m not worried about whether he will be all right or not. I’m worried that he won’t die.”

Anastasia’s mood was a little unstable. Her words were cruel but reflected her mood, for she hated Zeke

very much.

Anastasia mused, “He is the person who ruined my life.” She lost her mother at the age of ten. Her dad was an alcoholic. He gambled and beat her mother up. In the end, her mother passed away.
