Bennett glanced at her coolly, then made his way over to Roxanne, supporting her arm as he did. The icy, commanding aura around him seemed to vanish as he smiled at her. 

“Why are you up so early?” 

Roxanne smiled back, her graying hair neatly tied up. “Since we’ve returned to the country, everything feels so much better. I just wanted to get a bit of fresh air. You wouldn’t believe it. Just a quick walk and a bit of exercise, and I feel so much better. Like my energy’s flowing again.” 

Bennett nodded. “Alright then. I’ll join you for your morning exercises from now on.” 

Roxanne shot him a playful glare. “No way! Do you think I can get up every day like this? A couple of times is fine, but not every day!” 

A hint of helplessness flickered in Bennett’s eyes. “Alright, when you feel like getting up early to exercise, just let me know.” 

Roxanne chuckled, then glanced at Charlotte. “I’m hungry. Let’s have breakfast!” 

Charlotte had been quietly watching their playful exchange,

“Charlotte, what are you standing there for?” Roxanne called out when she noticed Charlotte lost in thought. 

Snapping out of her reverie, Charlotte smiled, “I was just thinking about where to take pictures of you two. The flower corridor looks lovely.” 

Roxanne shook her head. “Let’s go to the Rose Villa. The roses there are breathtaking.” 

Charlotte’s smile faltered slightly, and she quickly replied, “Grandma, the roses there are all dead.” 

“Dead? How?” Roxanne furrowed her brows. “I remember you taking such good care of them. How could they all die?” 

“I’m the one who messed up.” Arthur’s deep voice cut in, saving Charlotte from the awkward moment. 

“I didn’t like how they were looking, so I told the gardeners to stop tending to them. Didn’t realize they were so delicate. They all withered in no time.” 

Roxanne shot Bennett an annoyed look. “You need to do 

something about him. Get the whip out! I can’t even look at him right now!” 

Bennett turned to Arthur, his face serious. “Are you asking for trouble? Don’t you know how much your grandmother loves those roses?”

Charlotte laughed, “If I really divorced him, would you back me up?” 

“Of course!” Roxanne didn’t hesitate. “He’s a jerk. He needs to learn that a beautiful wife isn’t something he can just take for granted.” 

Charlotte’s mind raced, wondering if this was the moment to finally tell them about her divorce plans.
