Chapter 390 Mr. Harrison Is with Sarah 

Jennifer was in the middle of a lively conversation with a few wealthy ladies when Charlotte walked over. 

“Jennifer,” Charlotte said, her tone even, “I’m not giving the speech. You’re the chair of the foundation–you’re the best person for it.”

Jennifer shot her a glance, her expression unreadable. “I’m giving you a chance to shine. When Roxanne asks why you didn’t take it, don’t turn around and blame me. It was your call.” 

“Got it.” Charlotte nodded, then turned and walked away, showing no interest in continuing the conversation. 

Jennifer wasn’t doing this for Charlotte’s benefit—it was just to appease Roxanne. And since Charlotte didn’t care, she wasn’t about to waste her energy playing along. 

The auction was winding down as Jennifer took the stage for her closing remarks. The evening was about to transition into dinner when a commotion broke out nearby. 

Someone said, “Did you hear? Mr. Harrison is with Sarah now.” 

Someone gasped, “No way. Are you serious?”

Chapter 390 Mr. Harrison Is with Sarah Someone echoed, “I’m telling you, it’s true. Everyone’s heading over to see for themselves. Apparently, he’s always had feelings for her they even used to date.” 

Someone shook her head. “But he’s married. And they have a five–year–old son. Isn’t this wrong?” 

Someone shrugged. “Wrong? Come on, let’s not act so naïve. Do you not remember how Mrs. Harrison got her title? Mr. Harrison can’t stand her. It’s just a matter of time before he files for divorce.” 

Charlotte caught every word of the conversation, though she pretended not to react. A small crowd of socialites and trophy wives was already moving toward the lounge, their faces alight with curiosity and gossip. 

Charlotte’s brows knit together as a thought crept into her mind. Arthur had been drugged tonight–she was sure of it. He needed someone to help him. And Sarah was here. She wondered, “Are they… together?” 

She instinctively wanted to dismiss the idea. Arthur’d told her before that his relationship with Sarah wasn’t about love—it was just paying back an old debt. But now rumors spread like this. 

Her fingers tightened around the stem of her wine glass until her knuckles turned white. Without a word, she turned and walked away. She thought, “It doesn’t matter who he is with. If anything, I welcome it–it would make the divorce smoother.” 

As she headed in the opposite direction of the crowd, she heard

Sebastian strode over, his face dark with barely contained anger. “Where are you going? Did you hear what Arthur did? He’s—” 

Charlotte cut him off with a faint smile, “Sebastian, don’t you remember? I’ve been wanting to divorce him for ages. If he’s with someone else, isn’t that perfect?” 

“That’s not the point,” Sebastian said, his voice firm. “You deserve a proper divorce–not this public humiliation. It’s unfair to you.” 

But Charlotte just shook her head. “This is exactly what I need. Anyway, I’m heading out. If you’re staying, maybe record some evidence for me. If he refuses to sign the papers, I’ll use it in 

court.” 

She walked off, her expression calm and composed as if nothing about the situation bothered her.
