Jacob stared at the screen in shock, and his eyes widened. “Mr. Harrison, Mrs. Harrison is at sea!” 

The container swayed up and down as Charlotte finally cut the ropes with broken glass. Her wrist was scraped, and blood trickled out, but she didn’t have time to care. 

The seawater had risen above her knees. She struggled to reach the door and tried everything to open it. 

If she could open the door, she’d have a fifty percent chance of surviving. But if she couldn’t, there was no chance at all. She’d have to watch herself drown. 

The door seemed to have been locked from the outside. Exhausted, she leaned against it, the salty, cold seawater rising steadily. Soon, she started to have difficulty breathing. 

In the dark container, she experienced an overwhelming sense of despair like never before. 

“Am I really going to die here?” she murmured. 

She didn’t know how much time had passed, but the water had risen to her chest. She stood with great effort, supporting her body, her face full of helplessness.

They weren’t here to rescue her. 

They were in cahoots with the people who had kidnapped her. 

She immediately tightened her grip on the broken glass in her palm, her body soaked and her face pale as she asked, “What contract?”
